Today I went to the dump, and one guy asked my wife about the truck, and they talked a little whille about it. Then another guy comes up to me asking, "Is that the new Maverick? Is it as good as all the hype?"
...what did you say? Heck ya it is!
My exact words were, "It is even better than the hype."

Went out on some errands today with my Dad and every time I came back to my truck people would be standing around it and checking it out haha
Talked to a guy and he asked me what it was because he thought initially it was a new style ranger. Another Gentleman was confused be cause it was a hybrid truck. :ROFLMAO:

Any one else having the same experiences with people and your truck? lol :D

i had the same with my neighbors, my stops at autozone or lowes, i had a guy walk full circle around it and wanted to knlow more as he exited his older f150 and im telling you they literally start to drool. its kinda cool. I had a few dudes just couldnt stop staring at it like "What is that wow thats beautiful" And i was only pulled up next to them. This is a common occurance i did not expect.

Not a ton, but then I’ve only got 1,600 miles but I’ve had a few. Recently was filling up at a gas station and when I came out, a guy with a fusion was checking it and he’s like “maverick? What’s a maverick? Wasn’t that an old passenger car decades ago” and I let him check out the interior and what not and he’s like “this is perfect, it’s everything you need”.
Me: “I agree! It’s why I love it!”

We chatted for probably 10 minutes (that I didn’t have, but I enjoy talking about it)

All the time! Normally all good, but last week I was fishing one of the ponds around my house and had a cop pull up, for sure thought one of the Karens around called on me. Nope! He wanted to talk about the Mav 😂 . He's going to order when the books open up again, but hadn't gotten to actually get close to one yet. Spent about 10 minutes talking about it and showing it off.
This is my scenario. I've been checking them out, but wanted to see one in person before making the leap, but I have YET to see one. Even my local dealership doesn't have any around for viewing.

It's this or a Lightning, and I don't really need a full size truck. Maverick would fit the bill perfectly for those weekend trip to Lowe's. And a lot cheaper than the Lightning. :)

I don't see any advertising on t.v. so some people really haven't seen a Maverick yet. Give a year or two and you'll see a lot more on the road.
Yes this 100% - many people don't use the internet nearly as much as those on an online forum!

This past September I had someone approach me to ask if 'that was the new...ranger'. Yes, he asked if my 2019 Ranger was the new model, a full 2 years after it was released! I'm sure his mind would have been blown by the Maverick. 🤯

if that is the only thing holding you back, maybe put a little more effort into it? I live in a small rural town with 1 Ford dealer. Bought a F-150 there a couple years ago and keep in touch with people there. I had to educate them about the maverick months before it was revealed, but it paid off later as they invited me to an official Training event where I could crawl all over a Mav and then called me to test drive the 1st 1 they received. Sealed the deal for me after all my research.

Yup! Every Sunday when I'm at the car wash and grocery store, I never fail to get stopped. And it's almost always older guys (like in their 60s/70s) who remark "you know...I used to have a truck that size years ago!"

The Cactus Grey seems to draw a lot of attention as well.

I've contacted the dealer and the salesman said he would call if they were to get one in I could see, the next closest option with any on the lot is 90 miles away and I just haven't had the time to take an all day trip to look at a vehicle.

At this point I can't order one anyway, so I'm not in a big rush, but I would like to see one in person before doing so.

So I'll keep looking, and making calls.

Yes, people stop me and ask about my hybrid Maverick XL in Velocity Blue truck all the time.

In a Sam’s parking lot, I parked far away from everyone else. When I came out of the store, a Ford Heavy Duty truck was parked next to mine. A lady was unloading up her flat cart into the bed of her truck. She said “nice baby truck”.

I filled it up with gas the other day. A lady and her daughter were filling up their SUV ahead of me. She pulled up just far enough for me to fill up mine when she was done. They both loved the Velocity Blue color and the truck itself.

In Lowe’s the other day, I came out of the store and two guys were walking around my truck. We had about a 15 minute conversation. They had their own business and have an F150. We talked about it being a hybrid, and how it would save them money on gas and insurance.

I make and deliver raised bed garden planter boxes. Various customers tell me how much they love the truck!

It’s a definite conversation starter!

For me, I love this little truck, its versatility, gas mileage, the way it drives and rides, and the looks!!
I hate it when people do that! Obviously I'm trying to STAY AWAY from other vehicles parked close to me and there's a wide open parking lot to use- but no, some mental midget just has to home in on the 1 car by itself and park right next to it. I don't get the thought process going on there

That is hardcore. I work the hell out of mine but that is one line I won't cross right now is loading it up with garbage or going to the local dump since the place is a dirty mess on vehicles and not in a good way. That is what my other truck is for.

A few days after I bought mine while parked at the vet's, I got the double take and full walk around from one of the employees. Chatted with him about it.

The only other real person who wanted to talk about it was my dad, who asked me to take it when visiting them (they live 9 hours away). I think both my folks liked it enough they were talking about getting one themselves and trade in their f150.

From there I went to Lowes, I wish I would have taken photos. Full bed to dump, over $1000 of merchandise from Lowes, including lumber and floor leveler. The longest lumber was 12 ft, which hung out a wee bit...

Twice this weekend alone plus one of them offered me a job… a woman who drives for Carmax and knows her cars talked to me at Sams Club in the gas line! 🤣
