At that rate, I doubt they would be able to get all of the MY22 orders done in MY23, my guess is they had over 100k orders as the Bronco had about 125k orders in 2021 and it's a much more expensive vehicle.
It's been stated many times in the forum if you ordered AFTER Sept your chances of getting MY22 are very slim. I hope Ford can build more but that is looking very slim.

If you figure 50k actual orders and 5-6k a month at full rate production and about 10 months at that rate it adds up. They might be able to ramp up toward the end of the run to catch up.
No way it's only 50k orders. A truck this cheap and popular...I'd guess 150k. Minimum 100k easily.

subtract the 23k confirmed already built and shipped from factory. It's not impossible they can get all MY22 orders filled by end of September.
If it was ONLY 50k ordered for 2022...ya, it's possible. But think about it...you honestly think ONLY 50k Mavericks were sold? A truck this cheap, this in demand, this popular, that gets this good gas mileage? It's when of the best overall vehicles for the MSRP price...ever. Seriously. And 50k is NOTHING. Look up how many other popular cars get built in a year.

Ford could solve the mystery by saying how many orders there are. I'm not holding my breath.

I have no way to know for sure and Ford has not released exacting numbers on either Reservations or Orders, so I'm connecting the dots in what little has been released from Farley tweets and such along with dealer posted info along the way. I'm not interested in restarting all the arguments about how people reached other conclusions, but my best guess is they had 100k actual reservations +/- 10%, and dealer provided info of about 55% conversion rate of Reservations to verified Orders- so probably ball park of 55k actual Retail orders to fulfill through Hermosillo factory. Subtract whatever number is documented already built and shipped and you have your balance to still produce and ship for MY22. YMMV.

Exactly. I don't think ford planned (and they did plan) on 100k trucks the first model year. The worst that can happen for them is they sell out and have to close the books, which is exactly what they did. So their factory run is full through the end of the model run which is a great problem to have.

If they expected and planned to actually fill 100k orders they would have had to be producing roughly twice as many vehicles per month as they have been. What if the truck flopped? What if there were a major recall? It's a big risk for a first model year vehicle. Better to plan on making a more moderate amount and see what happens first. They can always ramp up production for the next model year.

The planning is not insubstantial. They have to have all the materials and parts lined up from a myriad of suppliers worldwide. They have to have adequate space and equipment set aside and they need labor to do the actual work.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they did NOT plan on ramping up the second model year, either. Demand can be fickle and getting stuck with boatloads of unsold vehicles would be a disaster.

They should not be concerned with unsold vehicles with an order to build system.

Mine is also scheduled for the week of April 25th and the VIN is 63017. How could my VIN be more than 6000 vehicles past your's and still be built in the same week?
My truck was originally scheduled for build on April 4th. Then pushed back 2 weeks to April 18th. Then pushed back to April 25th. Just waiting for the next push back.

An EcoBoost? Seems the EBs are getting pushed back and the Hybrids are getting pulled forward.

I haven't seen or read that from any Ford official spokesperson or media account. IMO it is just paranoia from some posters here taking on a life of it's own. Same way so many people became "afraid" their dealer wouldn't honor pricing or sell their ordered truck out from under them. Has it happened? Yes in a few reported cases but not widespread as posts here might lead you to believe.

Does anyone know what happens with the unfilled '22 orders when they switch to '23? Do we retain our spot "in line" (if there is such a thing), do we need to do anything at the dealership, re-enter an order? Or just wait and wonder... 🤔

I am not sure why this forum is still "estimating" MY22 Maverick production as 50 or 55K

We know that the later scheduled builds already have VINs over 61,000. VINs are sequential. Maverick VINs are not shared with Bronco Sport VINs; they are separate and only refer to Mavericks. Feel free to point our the errors in my ways!!!
