Had a 2013 Ford Focus ST that I purchased an extended warranty on - Why's that relevant? Same engine. Here's my story about why it saved me roughly ten grand.
Carbon buildup on the engine fouled the valves so bad it wouldn't run for crap while cold. Twice.
Techs removed heads and cleaned...
I caught this early before Ford came up with the Recall. I fought with my dealership pretty hard in regards to this, and the early warning to me was the lack of stop/start. It would refuse to stop/start and let me know that it lacked a charge, eventually it refused to remote start and I started...
I tried to activate mine when the tracker told me it was at the dealership. It actually allowed me to press and wait for activation then, but not before. The dealer was pretty good about ignoring the activation until I was enroute to pick it up. You may get lucky and someone presses it...
Totally with you on this and I feel like it's only something vets would understand. I had a huge argument at a restaurant one year because they wouldn't give a free meal to a vet on vets day, only active duty. WTF is the point of honoring vets if it's only lip service. We never went back. Sucks...
Not a lot of solutions here for you, hope you get things fixed. That being said, hit up your local newspaper and state rep, start rattling cages and making noise. Dealership will start moving if they start appearing in the news and when politicians start poking their heads in.
Just picked up my Mav today. Latest was March 28th and it got here on the 24th. Unless you end up in train purgatory it should be there in that window. Congratulations!
I have had my focus heads and turbo replaced twice now at 63000 miles from carbon buildup. I have pics to prove it. Anyone telling you 100k before this is a problem is selling you a bridge.
It starts being an issue every 20-25k mile in my experience with this motor.
I am confident that there will be no soldering here. You can look at all kinds of diagrams and see that the majority of vehicle controlled systems are, indeed, module based. You can plug the empty receptacle and mark it for backfill later with instructions on how to properly install said module...
Can confirm this for sure working in aviation. You get vibrations in aircraft that can be pretty intense. I can also confirm that concussive maintenance is a thing (drop testing). It works.
I was stationed in Oahu for a number of years and bought an ST focus there. From my experience all the ford dealers on the island are scummy. they're the only get in town and they know it. What are you gonna do, go to the mainland?
So I got my built email last night after just over a month of waiting in production. I have a Lariat with all the fancy gizmos and chips. I'm a July order, so, if you're July/June and haven't gotten anything, you shouldn't be too far behind me. The only constraint I had removed was splash guards...
Been in 'production' since the 10th. Blend date is Jan 31st. Add 30 days if you're on a chip hold seems to be the pattern. So I expect to see movement around march 10th. In your case it hasn't been a full month of official production, so patience should win out here. I'd get fidgety if it's...
