You missed the point completely. I’m sorry you have so much anger in your life.
Seemed pretty clear that you were badgering the OP for $900 making a difference in their life at 70, but I'd love to hear what you really meant by "I can only hope I’m not worried about $900 on a new vehicle purchase when I’m 70 years old. "

I am a “long hauler.”

Maverick I ordered July 5, 2021 is scheduled for production this week. The window sticker on the tracking tool was available yesterday. Total msrp increased $890.00 from msrp at time of order.

Lariat base, lux package and co-pilot prices increased

Using info found here, the truck was invoiced January 20, 2022.

Margins are thin on the Maverick, I’m guessing that even at 4% below invoice, looking at least an additional $800.

My issue is with Ford, not the dealer.

I am 70 years old and similar things occurred over the years with other past purchases. I was never happy regardless how well the item worked and regretted buying it.

For this reason, I decided to walk away and pursue other options.

i really feel your frustration. I too ordered July 10, and have been anxiously waiting for word of production dates etc. I had to take my Ford Escape in to the dealer last Wed.for a recall and had him look up my order to make sure I was in the system still. I am, and he said it looked like Mar. build date, everything to be included. I specifically asked about the across the board price increases and he assured me the original price was holding and that’s what I’d pay, no increases. I hope this holds true and there is no “bait and switch” bullshit. I didn’t get this grey hair, also 70 yrs., being conned into paying additional price increases. This could result in some legal and PR issues for Ford that I’m sure they don’t need.

Do you hope to be 70 years old and worried about $900 on a new vehicle purchase? I would hope the answer is no, and that you understand that I wanted the OP not to be in this situation at all. Since he walked away he now has to pay more time, energy, and likely money for a different option. I am glad he knows him self well enough that he will regret the purchase, I hope he doesn't' regret walking away.

So, yeah, you were badgering the OP about $900 being significant to them.

Isn't there a $750 voucher floating around somewhere?
Went to LA Auto Show and was given this signup and told by the Ford Booth rep that the $750 credit would go towards my Maverick. Just picked up and in the fine print, it says it doesn't qualify for mavericks, Broncos, etc.

"1 $750 Cash Reward available on the purchase or lease of an eligible new 2021/2022 Ford vehicle. Excludes Bronco™ SUV, Ford GT, F‑150 Lightning, F‑150 Raptor, Maverick, Mustang Mach 1 and Mustang Shelby® GT500®. May not combine with other private or commercial offers, conquest cash, owner loyalty and lease renewal programs. A/Z/D‑Plan ineligible. Nontransferable out of household. Limit one per household. U.S. residents only. Prior purchases not eligible. Place order or take new retail delivery from an authorized Ford Dealer's stock by 2/17/2022. Visit a participating authorized Ford Dealer for qualifications and complete details. Note to dealer: Claim in VINCENT using #38212 for Ford and customer ID. Ford Motor Company reserves the right to modify the terms of this offer at any time.
2 Test drive and online redemption must be completed between 11/19/2021 and 1/31/2022. No purchase necessary. Test drive not required in MD, NJ, OH and TN. Offer valid to residents of the US only. Participants must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license. Customers cannot redeem a Ford and a Lincoln Test Drive offer within same program year. This is a different Vincent claim code. There is a PCO floating around for Vincent claim code #38344 which does NOT exclude Mavericks. I know, because I have it sitting in front of me.

My dealer just called me because they got in a Maverick and I could buy it right away instead of waiting for my order. But then they told me they were charging $10,000 markup over MSRP. Ugghhh.

If the OP felt slighted and wants to walk thats fine and I respect him for standing on principles. I walked on 2 Mavericks already and waited for a third Maverick that was the best deal for me. At the end of the day its just a truck and next year it will be just be another used truck. :) FYI 2 trucks were under MSRP, 1 was at MSRP and thats the one I walked away from first. I would not even look at a truck over MSRP.

Unfortunate situation. If I were that concerned over $800, I would simply go with a stardard XLT with Co-pilot. Still a very nice truck that many of us would want to own.

Too bad about you cancelling your order. Ford won't miss the order, but I suspect that every time you see a Maverick on the road, you will wish you were driving one.
I don't agree with that comment. I would guess every time you see a Maverick on the road you will be even more angry that you were treated so unfairly. FORD set the original price for the 2022 model year and you signed an agreement to buy at that price. If FORD cannot build the vehicle for the price they agreed to they need to loose money. Oh yes, buy the way did you see FORD is already loosing money. And with the announcement today that they are ending all Maverick Orders I am certain more people will look elsewhere to punish FORD from doing this ever again. Ford has made more enemies than ever due to this and the Bronco problems. Looks like a prime time fort other manufacturers to step up and fill this need, as I am sure they will shortly. Ford again shoopts itself in the foot.

Go buy something else quickly and let the dealer and Ford know you are not playing any more. Ford set the rules and prices and now can't make good on their commitment to their customers. Everyone should cancel their orders and let the Mavericks pile up at the factory and dealer lots with the $10,000 mark ups. This has nothing to do with shortages as we see through the truth. Ford and their dealers were unhappy with a $20,000 vehicle and decided it was not going to make them enough money. Therefore they made us wait and created a back log with pend up demand. Now they feel they can raise the prices above msrp. I hope these greedy dealers all close up. Sorry for the salesman who loose their jobs due to the greedy company who lied to all of us.

Good for you. Any dealer who marks up the truck should be outed to the entire internet so they are run out of business.

Report them to Ford. Find the copy of the email that was sent out to dealers that's floated around some of the forums and Facebook pages, and email it to your dealership's general manager (or take it in). You have a copy of your original signed order so take that too.
Ford doesn't care. The MSRP is only Ford's suggested retail price. Ford has no control over what a sleezy dealer is willing to sell a Maverick for. What needs to happen is everyone stop buying the trucks until the dealers and factory are stick piled with no sales. Then Ford and the dealers can stop playing these games and see for what we agreed to buy for, MSRP.
