The only reason that I went to the Lariat Lux was to get the ACC. Ford is manipulating us by including what I believe to be one of the safest features in a car in the most expensive trim package. In my humble opinion, ACC (and blind spot) ought to be available on any trim level. It has saved my butt on several occasions over the 10 years I've owned my Titanium fusion.

I agree. Safety features like these should be available on all cars. And if someone doesn't want to pay for them, then that's fine. IMHO, Ford should have the Co-Pilot 360 package as they have it, and a Co-Pilot 360+ that has all the rest. Let people decide what safety features they want.

I would have probably gone XLT Poverty Edition with a Co-Pilot 360+, if that was an option. But Ford did what they did for financial reasons. And it worked in my case, and yours, because we both went Lariat Luxury to get the safety features we wanted. Bilked me for another $6,000 to upgrade to both Lariat and Luxury.

I'm not angry with them. It was a business decision, and I could have gone elsewhere with my money. I thought it was worth it in my personal analysis. But if I had the choice, I sure wouldn't have paid the extra.

So, if anything, I probably just justified their business decision. It's probably going to pay off to their bottom line.

I believe it's the sonar and front facing camera installed in the rear view mirror housing.
Ford made a lil video. It's radar technically, and the camera. I think the radar module is in the grill of the Lariat Lux's equipped with it.

https://www.ford.com/technology/driver-assist-technology/adaptive-cruise-control/

Available on select Ford vehicles is a series of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) features employing advanced radar and camera technology.10 ACC lets you set a cruising speed and distance from the vehicle ahead of you. When it slows down, you automatically do too; when traffic picks back up, you resume your preset speed and distance. Then comes ACC with Stop-and-Go, which enables you to come to a complete stop when the vehicle ahead stops. * Now add Lane Centering, which scans the lane markings to help you stay in your lane if the system detects you’re drifting out of it. And that’s not all. Now there’s Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, which includes all of these features plus new Speed Sign Recognition that can automatically adjust the set speed of your vehicle to the posted speed limit.

Like many others it seems, I would have been perfectly happy with the XLT lux package if I could get it with ACC. The lack of it is the sole reason for going lariat. I wonder if it'll trickle down to the xlt for future models.

Interesting that lane centering can only be activated in conjunction with ACC. With my wife's Odyssey you activate both at the same time but then engage each feature individually. However that is only LKA.

I would love lane centering but have nearly 0 need for ACC or cruise in general. just drove 1200 miles in 3 days from Ohio to the mountains of Western NC and back and only used cruise for about 60 of those miles in my 2014 Forester.

What I did miss was the van's LKA which helps fight fatigue on longer trips. Keeps you safely in the lane and (in Hondas) will actually turn in fairly accurately to a turn at 70+ mph. It maybe reduces your driving effort by 10-15% on those longer rides.

That's why for me the CP360 on the XL (also netted power mirrors, the rear slider option, and "full spare) was perfect and all I need. Would I like ACC and lane centering? Sure - but my truck's sticker is $23,575 and I signed a price agreement for that price. It's not realistic to expect Ford to put in all their advanced safety features one of their least expensive models - at any trim level - which is why only the Lariat Lux gets it.

Maybe I'm the only person left that doesn't use any form of cruise control. My daily work commute is 10 miles of mostly city/suburban traffic, but even when I'm driving on the highway for multiple hours I don't want to lose the feeling of control.
Is there anybody else out there???????????
NO! even my old 1973 car has cruise, couldn't imagine a vehicle without it. A 2022 model shouldn't be offered without. If the CO360 option would have had adaptive cruise included many of us could have ordered an XL & probably saved at least a grand.

Whoa! No acc!? that was the whole reason I ordered with 360. So what does the XLT 360 come with? blind spot monitoring and lane centering? Blind spot monitoring is a pretty minor thing for a vehicle this small, so if all it is is lane centering...that's pretty lame.

After reading more carefully the XLT 360 does not have lane centering, it has 'lane-keeping aid' which is just a vibration in the steering wheel right? $540 seems pricey for basically blind spot monitoring and nothing else of value.....I'm sad about this.
I thought the same thing when I made my purchase back in July. How many others out there feel misled? There may be grounds for a class action lawsuit. Let me know and I'll look into it. Just received my XLT with 360 today and it ruined the whole purchase for me.

Making assumptions and you think you can sue based on an assumption? Wow. What’s next, I assumed it had a V-12, so I’ve been misled. Again, wow.

Requires the Lariat Luxury Package.
Before I ordered my Maverick I bought The Dealer Salesman Brochure or Packaging Guide. One of the standard features on the XLT was the Cruise Control. I ordered my Maverick early in November and the Dealer Order sheet did not include the Cruise Control, I assumed because there were to many features to list on the Order sheet for the XLT Package. My truck will be built next month and when I get it I'll find out if I have Cruise Control. Meanwhile I'll call my salesman later today and see what he says.

Agree, people don't do their homework and now its someone else's fault they are disappointed.

XLT has cruise control. Not adaptive cruise control. Do you mean CC or ACC?

Not sure why you bought it, you could have walked away instead of having your whole purchase ruined. Why buy something not equipped the way you want it?

Review this thread for other mistakes and misunderstandings; maybe you will want to add more to your "I made a mistake" class-action lawsuit.

Many folk do not like many of the Nanny features on newer cars/trucks... Coming from a strictly manual tranny, manual window, few if any electronic features , this old guy was slow to adapt to these "Features". Fortunately my very first auto tranny truck was a Ford Superduty 250 bought to tow a fairly heavy trailer and I was actually angered that FoMoCo did not offer any manual trans option. That trans had a tow/haul mode that I fell in love with.

Then my wife bought a new Grand Cherokee Limited and I fell in love with leather heated seats, heated steering wheel, Home link, Acc, back up cam with curved lines, lane alert with modest steering wheel feed back. It was amazing how much I learned to adapt and then rely on these "Features" Well except the auto start stop not any benefit out here in very rural Texas: but even that we adapted to by always defeating with the button during start and seat belt clicking, it just became a normal part of going.

No longer needing Large trucks I eventually got a Cherokee Limited of my own. And learned from every day driving the limitations of lane sense and ACC with breaking... Unawares folk can get really freaked out by how these systems behave in some conditions. Imagine zooming along at 75mph in right lane with ACC on and the road curving to the left...the car in front want to turn right onto a county road and moves into emergency lane and reduces speed a LOT. You "lane" is clear BUT the ACC is still "seeing" the Turing vehicle, and as you come up FAST, it react by aggressive braking and you panic hoping any vehicle behind does not rear end you at high speed. For me it took a few of these events to understand why it behaves that way. Understanding and knowing how the system behaves let ME adapt my driving style and lane choices on high speed highways with center turn lanes and many county road entrances, especially on curves.

So a lot of words to explain that I prefer many of these "Features" and my build of the Mav required Lariat with everything except 4X4. Simply because without ACC I would not be happy with my new truck and always curse FoMoCo like I will do about NO Home LINK in any trim

LOL. If this isn’t a perfect example of the world we live in today 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

No, there’s no grounds for legal action because you were an unresearched consumer.

Misled or you just did not read the details to start with?
Perhaps the dealer should counter sue for lack of attention to detail?
Culture of "I will sue!" is rampant in society now.
