"From the boat launch to the highway, the Maverick pickup's standard and available smart technology features are designed to help you feel confidently in command at the wheel."

If it is available but is not standard that makes it an option right?

Personally I can’t believe anyone trust this technology in stop and go driving.

I think it has some value over the road and I use it on my Toyota Corolla Cross but I didn’t have to pay a premium to get it. All the packages of the Cross come with it already.

Im fine without it on my Maverick but if it were a standard feature that would have been nice. Should have at least been standard on a Lariat.

🤓Very good try, but not preceded by a global all in compassing reference. Like Co-Pilot 360 which at one time was and now is again all in compassing.

Count me among the confused who missed the transition from 2022 to 2023 model year reordering and thought I was getting adaptive cruise, but just discovered after my first road trip in my 4 week old Maverick that adaptive cruise was missing. I'm very disappointed.

In stop & go, it really depends. If you're in very dense traffic and there are people swapping lanes, jockeying to try to get ahead any way they possibly can - it is slow enough to react that someone likely would cut you off. If it's bursts of speed to 40-50 mph and then back to zero, it's a little nerve wracking and if you're hovering your foot over the brake, in my opinion you might as well just turn it off and manually drive.

But...

In slow, very chill traffic it works great. It's very easy to push 'OK' to resume from a stop.

It's awesome over the road and I'm a lot less tired after 3+ hour drives, especially on a day with heavy crosswinds.

Im fine without it on my Maverick but if it were a standard feature that would have been nice. Should have at least been standard on a Lariat.
they addressed that for MY24, yes.

a different issue is that many other Ford vehicles, nearly all of them in fact, that offer ACC offer it in lower trim levels. you can get it in Ranger or F150 XLT, and you can get it in a base model Escape. maybe Ford will open it up for a Maverick XLT in MY25, we will see.

Sounds like the way I will use it as I get more used to it. I don't do a lot of slow stop and go driving though. I don't trust it to bring me to a complete stop from say 30+mph. That said, I do feel it is a great safety back up if I don't react fast enough to stopped traffic up ahead when Im cruising down the highway.

I guess that's the deal with me I see ACC as a safety feature as much as anything and therefore feel it should be standard on all trims. Selectable but standard.

🤓 Thanks for feedback. I have talked to at least 4 dealerships that were, at that time, confused about ACC. Many ACC confusion issues on this site past , present and unfortunately looks like future. My sales person says ACC can be added at a cost, which I committed to, but 4 weeks have past and recent conversation with service manager has established the confusion still exists. He was unaware of my purchase and was not sure if it was even available for dealership to install. Ask if you are interested in aftermarket install. Or just to see their response.

Sounds like next vehicle you order should be researched better.

🤓 Thank you. Seems chip shortage drove some changes in builds. These changes not communicated to dealership. If so, obviously poorly. I don’t blame the dealership, Ford corporate actions seem very close to criminal. I also noted no price reduction for missing items? Presently, I am charged over $1,000 for ACC option addition. To be installed. Dealership will install free. Twice the bad Ford corporate deed is done. Maybe trice, purchase also included $2,000 plus accessory addition, which was included by original customer order. So I was told?
🤓 Update: Dealership did not honor price, parts took forever to show up and service department did not sound confident they could install ACC, at $2,500 dollars. I be screwed.
