Airport hookup?
Is no lots of drag cars around here so some gas stations are smart enough to keep racing fuel on hand

i've been burning 85 or 87 no difference. I'm at only 3500 feet. A couple station sell the 87 for 85 price I tend to go there. No ping and no discernible difference in acceleration or economy. Bought gas for 2.77 today in Kansas it was 87.

Did you notice a difference in engine noise at all?
I'm not the guy you're asking, but can you elaborate? Octane ratings should not cause a difference in engine sounds unless you're talking about pre-ignition, which is not a concern with the hybrid especially.

Here in PHX, there are 3 gas stations that sell, 97 and 100 octane fuel. One is by the local drag strip and the others are in Scottdale.

Have run 100 octane in my M5, (stage 2) and made a nice difference ;)

I was expecting zero change.
I'm not surprised that gas mileage doesn't change much, and just cruising around feels about the same. Some day I'll experiment with higher octane when I'm towing something and see if it feels different.

lol....with the 2.0, 93 octane will be VERY noticeable, especially towing & hard acceleration. ;)

I've looked quite extensively into octanes and for a hybrid there won't be any measurable difference in operation. The computer won't pull timing far enough to get any benefit out of it. However during high heat operations i.e. 100+ degree days in texas or towing. I think they recommend 89 in the manual so your power doesn't fade off.

What were you expecting?
I know it's not exactly on your topic, but the EcoBoost really isn't different than your results when I used 92 octane for a full tank. Although maybe a barely noticeable acceleration improvement. Not worth the price difference.
My issue with the eb is carbon build up not using top tier premium. My last vw turbo 2.0 had carbon build up at 60k milage. Rough idling and check engine light.. I thought I could get away with mid grade but no way. Don't know how the eb will be. Time will tell.
