I was on Amazon looking at things for the 2022 Maverick and found this. Don't anything about it but had read your forum.

Good question. I didn’t even see that. I’ll have to see if I can find both without having to buy both

^^ This for sure. But I do appreciate those who are blazing the trail on this. I'm pretty confident there will be upgrades available later, whether factory or aftermarket. Thin Ford did a lot of things to get this out the door with constraints being as they are. I can live with it until then....I knew being a sight-unseen early adopter would come with it's cons as well. Still well worth it...still feel like a kid with mine!!

Perhaps Ford viewed this as an anachronism just like cd players? On the latter I noticed that the radio manual controls knobs have a thin groove running between them. I thought that was a clever Easter egg hidden in plain view to honor the passing of the cd player

I honestly dont think it has anything to do with them thinking that its a technology on the way out. They didnt even include HD radio which should be standard at this point. It was either a supply chain constraint or just a total cost savings measure.

For now I listen to Pandora and use Waze through my Android Auto. It works well enough. I would love to upgrade the radio but am waiting to see what finally opens up on the aftermarket. One upgrade I am going to do hopefully soon is the door speakers.. should be pretty simple and I might add I will probably add some sound deadening too. I am not sure the sound deadening will add much but it couldn't hurt. LOL

Here is the radio module info. Quick google search returns nothing.

I zoomed in on the tag that is covered up and looked at the radio in the link for the Fiesta... You can can see under the label that says it is a "DIVERSITY" version.

So they did repurpose those old fiesta radios? Good eye on you! I didnt even notice the label being covered like that. This explains why the performance of these radios is so bad. Ford used these things in 2015.

You read my mind and I’m looking for that right now. The only thing I'm seeing though is that even the Fiestas had APIMs in them.

Just looking at this video I think we are just a new ACM, APIM and wiring harness away from this working. The ACM and APIM are cheap on eBay but the wiring harness obviously doesnt exist or Im not sure which one is needed

I haven't looked into that. Definitely something that needs to be considered in all of this.
