I didn’t know that. I am getting the Lariat Lux and that is why I was looking at that APIM Nav upgrade that these two offer (Bronco Sport offerings below).

and

i found a sync 3 module for $300 and got a SiriusXM enabled radio as well. I ordered It all mistakenly before opening the dash. I was going to do a swap like these companies provide but after today I don’t know if that is possible

I thought all models had Sync 3. Dd that change at some point in the past 6 months since I ordered?

Ford MyTouch was Sync 2. The Maverick XL/XLT/Lariat non-Lux are Connected Touch Radio which is pared down Sync 3.
Sorry. You are correct. I knew touch was in the name but couldn’t remember the full name

Following this thread intently. You are doing all the legwork for me.

Please share some pics of the back of the radio and wiring, especially the USB if you went through the trouble of taking it apart.

We need to open up a Lariatt with Sync 3. These parts must be interchangeable as the head unit in the Lariatt is the same. We may need some more cables to connect everything.

They may have photoshopped the Navigation onto an XLT dash but if they didnt this is proof it can be done.

so I emailed infotainment in October asking them if they had any plans on Maverick upgrades. At the time there was nothing on the site. When they replied they said “ good news we just launched our Maverick upgrade” with a link to that page so it’s 100% photoshopped.

Not having a gps kind of defeats the purpose of having a big screen in the center console. Otherwise what does it do for you?

Starting to sound like the smart move is to rip out the radio and screen and put in an aftermarket radio and just mount a tablet in the screen slot. F-ing radio doesn't work right anyway.

I don't understand why someone would be interested in a hugely expensive Sync 3 infotainment upgrade, when I'm sure the aftermarket will come up with larger screen drop in replacements.

Chinesium aftermarket ones will also likely let you add front and bed cameras too.

Ford did the dumb shit with this vehicle in this aspect. (Not even having the option for Sync and XM on a $30k vehicle)

OEM will be plug and play with a little adjustment with ForScan. Aftermarktet will need wires spliced and a jenky adapter to get steering wheel controls working. Also any aftermarket I saw that provides a screen the same size is roughly $1k. I paid $600 for the components I needed to make the upgrade. So from a pricing perspective its not much cheaper if at all to do aftermarket.
