Ford is gonna get rid of the ecoboost for the redesign MY... my guess!

If I can’t get another Ecoboost Tremor my next truck will be a Ranger.

The Tremor and the LoBo DESERVE the Ecoboost.

I think the Mavbrid is way kool don’t get me wrong.

That $100 hitch option from the factory, becomes a 700 to $1,000 option after the fact.
I wish all Mavericks came with a receiver hitch as standard equipment and $100 delete if you don't want it.

I would think it hurts resale value as well ... not only does it not have 4K tow... it doesn't even have a receiver.

0K tow from the factory on a truck is an interesting choice.

I guess for a fleet vehicle every dollar counts.

Well, guess I won't be getting a new Maverick.

My '23 Lariat has nearly everything I wanted, but I didn't opt for heated seats. I planned on replacing it in '27 with another Lariat AWD with EB and 4K tow.

Guess I'll be looking elsewhere. I don't want a hybrid.

The 2027 Ford model just lost my interest! The Maverick has gone down hill since the 2022 early model. What started as a "Affordable" truck, is now a money hungry over priced truck. No longer a truck for the common person!!! (Yes, I own the 2022 model and the ONLY reason is because it was affordable) Not going nor could I pay $40,000 - $50,000 for an everyday "Take the Trash or DYI" truck.

Inflation is a thing. Ford's margins are still only around 10%, its not lie they're sitting on piles of cash. It's pretty easy to find XLs closer to the $30k mark.

I'd be a lot more worried about losing money trading in vehicles every 5 years then the price of a new one.

If the next gen has a more poewrful hybrid design, the ecoboost has no reason to exist.

Even the current one significantly closed the gap with the AWD gearing. 6.0 to 60 for the boost, 6.7 for the hybrid. Maybe we'll finally get a PHEV to go with a bigger motor and make the boost obsolete entirely.

Plus you must consider emissions. They are still getting stricter, and CAFE still exists, sure its penalties are currently $0, but that is not enshrined in law and can change on a dime. Automakers know this. A smaller vehicle like the Mav either has to go full hybrid eventually, or grow in size to keep gassers around. I for one dont think the mav needs to get any bigger.

I didn't get a hitch with my 24' XLT. Sure it would be nice to have in case I need it, but if there was a saving not having it, that was preferred. I see gobs of white XL Mavericks being used as parts delivery vehicles, in pest control, and lighter duty contracting / construction where they are just using the bed, and don't need AWD either really because it just adds more moving parts that cost money and break eventually. Just makes sense to make the XL a hybrid only at the cheapest price in the current market. God forbid we end up in a situation where the price doesn't go up and dealers have some room to maneuver below MSRP if there is plenty of stock on lots.

And here I am kicking myself in the ass for not ordering the 4K tow package even though i do not need it just to get the transmission cooler. Oh, well.

I for one dont think the mav needs to get any bigger.

It's current size is a big part of why I bought it.
There are plenty of large trucks, but very few of the Mav size currently.

And that's why I still have my carbureted 350 cu in V8 gas guzzler, which can decorate the asphalt with big black stripes anytime the mood strikes me...

What's the savings difference omitting the receiver? A quick search shows $100 from the build sheet, which honestly doesn't make sense not to get it, but to each their own.

I think it's safe to say that you would be in the minority of truck buyers looking for a maverick specifically without a hitch receiver.

I kinda disagree with that. The Maverick is so “car like” that I would say more people don’t tow …than actually tow. I got my Mav for two reasons only… to save money with the hybrid and to be able to take it where my F250 doesn’t get broken into or stolen. Mine did come with the receiver, because I didn’t order the truck, bought it off the lot…but I don’t need it to tow at all since I’ve got the big truck.

I have the 4k towing. Never have towed, likely never will. However if I need to transport my riding mower I will need to tow just as I did to get it to this house. The option was on the truck as was the awd. Didn't care either way but I am glad to have the extra transmission cooling. If I were to order 1 it would have the receiver and light plug just for resale and in case.

Come on, really!? No Ecoboost on Lariat? Makes no sense to me. How can the trim care about the motor? Transmission and AWD, sure, as they get mated together. But that stuff doesn’t care about trim options. And the order system can certainly handle having as many codes as they need for the combinations. Just doesn’t add up. Let’s hope they fix that for the redesign model year.

You have to get the Tremor which is basically the Lariat with EcoBoost, plus a different rear diff.
The only thing actually being lost if the ability to have a Lariat + EcoBoost + 4K Tow, as that option is not available on the Tremor.
