It won't take much in slate options to reach the Maverick price.
Here are your choices.

Slate $24.950 +destination fee.
I'm guessing that you have to really want an electric vehicle.
With a practical range of around 100 miles. 80% charge for battery health and you never drive it to zero charge.

Or for $2,195 more you can have
a real valueat $27,145

Or $3,195 more than a slateat $28,145

The Ford Dealer I bought my Maverick from also sold Mokes. They’ve been around forever. Totally customizable and gas or EV. Would have been cool and put golf carts in their place, but yikes they are expensive!

Crotchety old guy here. One issue I see for the Slate is that the folks who most could use a vehicle that starts at under $25k tend not to have access to dedicated EV charging.

If we were renting a home or apartment an EV or plug-in hybrid at any price becomes a more difficult sell.

E.g. between this and the upcoming Ford EV truck the idea of the Ford has more won over my wife who is thinking about something to replace her Golf because the Ford will certainly have more creature comforts (expect it to have a radio and power windows and expect it to have a trim level that includes heated seats), but we have the possibility to install a charger since we have our own home.

I think we won't pull the trigger in the next year anyway so we'll have to see.

141651 over nearly 7 years. I went to see the intro at the Philly Auto show and the saleman couldn’t explain why somebody would buy one.
Brought to the US by Malcom’s Bricklin. Yea, “that” car. Also founded Subaru of America, introduce the Fiat X-19, introduced the e-bike in 1982, etc.
… and I thought DeLorean messed things up!

Although if you look close many of the vehicles were Chrysler omni/horizon models. Love that movie!!!!!
