The million dollar question: Cactus Gray or Carbonized Gray?

Carbonized gray is lovely but somewhat boring TBH. Cactus grey looks great on the Ranger with the black appearance package, but I think the Maverick looks better in Area 51. Just my opinion.

Also, I never considered Alto blue until I saw pictures of it with the Lariat trim, but I'll be damned if that's not a beautiful combo.

If you want the black trim to be accented think value (lightness/darkness) instead of color. Colors such as Area 51 cactus gray (my choice), and white will accent the black trim more.

Very true. Another bonus for the XLT with the black door handles. The Lariat color handles don’t look as good to me.

IMPO, the cactus gray is a nice color, just too light of a shade. Area 51 is nice. Carbonized gray would bore me to sleep.

My Maverick will be Carbonized Gray. However, once I saw the Cactus Gray, I wanted that, but my Mav is already scheduled to be built, and my dealer said I couldn't change it. I'm not bummed by it, just wish I could have seen some of the colors in real life before ordering.

Easy: Oxford white.



I'm not sure how all of these non metallic, cream like paints like area 51 are going to age in the years to come. Lots of companies are putting out colors like that.

I wanted the Lariat and the A51, Velocity Blue and especially Alto Blue match the interior colors. I settled on the Lariat Lux Hybrid Alto Blue with bright wheels.

Glad I found this thread, I may change my order completely if possible. I ended up with Area 51 but I didn't like it as much. I ordered the 2.0 Maverick Lariat First Edition with Lux Package, 4k towing and 360 options. When we changed the order to Catcus Grey, the Ford site stated we must "remove the first edition package". Not sure if everyone saw this but it doesn't appear you can get both for some weird reason.

I ordered Area 51, and have seen enough Broncos and Bronco Sports around here in that color to confirm I ordered the right one.

Cactus Grey is a solid choice, especially with the FX4 wheels.

Not a fan of Carbonized Grey, though.

I was btw Cactus and A51.

Liked the Cactus because is lighter colour, till I saw it in person. The greenish touch is not for me, but still my second favourite

I went all in with a lariat in A51. With the blueish interior of the maverick I think goes great.
And is the coolest name of any color, come on, Area 51! LOL

I’m coming from a silver car, too overdone. It’s time to give metallic colors a resting time

I've seen both the Chili Pepper Red and the Cactus Gray in person. I like the CPRed but it is only available on the XLT and Lariat and I'm going with an XL. So, given the options there, the Cactus Gary was my choice. I've seen it on a Maverick, Ranger, and full-size Bronco and it is unique and quite nice. Certainly not the flash of the CPRed, but it makes a statement in a quieter way.

First Edition only comes in either Rapid Red, Carbonized Grey, or Area 51. That's it.

Cactus grey area 51 or carbonized grey????

I know its been beaten to death. I been searching all day YouTube videos and pictures.

All my local dealers do not have any of these colors in stock.

Every video or picture makes these colors look different.

What are your thoughts? Leaning towards area 51.

CGM looks great especially with the XL interior.
