It's simply a test on the rotunda tester. The battery is load tested, then fully charged and retested. All this occurs automatically after we enter the battery specifications. It may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours depending on the state of the battery. Most of the time it's an accurate assessment. It's pretty much the test that most places require before they will replace the battery under warranty. The tester is basically the same that's used at other places that will tell you to leave your battery before agreeing to replace it under warranty

FWIW, here's the test results. This is an OEM FLA (replaced under warranty) that's just over a year old. We'll see what happens. I did order a battery tester from Amazon so I can at least have a little more information when it starts misbehaving again.

Good luck with your struggle. I went through it for almost 2 years and finally got a fix. On battery number 3 with some reprogramming and so far no issue or depleted battery. No extra secret charger required like a normal carefree auto should be.

Just got a text my battery passed the Rotunda test. i'll pick it up this evening.
What is a rotunda test. I know a rotunda is a building with a round floor plan. What was tested? Testing in a circle with no purpose or results because they have no answer and no fix.

When you turn it on you have to place your hands palms up and pivot a full 360° while humming.🤫

My simple battery tester found the same thing on OEM small battery, and warranty bigger battery.

The stated Ah / CCA was easily surpassed in the test. So they do overbuild by a bit.
I wondered how bad would it be if they actually matched the specs!
So SOH% was fine, except for...

The internal resistance and ability to hold a full charge was very bad.
But from their point of view - unless it hit their Ford SOC of 39%, or went under those battery limits decently enough - not a bad battery.

Here's mine from 1/26 - 5 months old, 2 full recharges 3 months in, with drive to NY over 2 days up, 2 days back.
Compared to next picture of 6 yr old Rav4 battery, driven little since 4/24. And pre-Noco extended charging/repairing cycle. I thought interesting that the resistance in truck battery is already so bad.

I wouldn't call it interesting, I'd call it frustrating and sad it still happens.

Manually charging the 12V battery also requires that you reset the BMS, lock the doors and let it sit for 8hrs without touching the app, door handles, etc. The minimum that you will need is 9hrs to do it correctly.

The test I was referring to was NOT anything concerning the battery change. It was the battery analysis test that requires several hours to perform. Not the quick check done maybe even while you watch. The dealer will keep the truck for at least over night if not for several days. (Maybe due to scheduling time on the charger). It will completely charge battery then run tests.
