I remember that.... I think it was about 20+yrs ago reading about a scaled down '66 Shelby Cobra 4' long RC car with a working V8 RC motor in a Popular Machanic mag. Want to say... they were also working on a working blower too for that RC motor. Very cool desk display and cheaper than the real thing!

Its a Shelby...5.2 Supercharged
Actually this one is the 8200 RPM Voodoo with a manual transmission - although I like the GT500 too!

I think that engine is the best Ford has ever done. Nostalgic types will pine for this or that, but that flat-plane is insane uncorked. I’d still love to have a GT350.

Wasn't a Ferrari either.... IMO both are just another mustang wraped around a motor and some suspension. But I guess that can be said about any "production" made car. Either way, each had their time.

Nothing wrong with that 5.2.
I know but the 5.0L is widely considered "easier" to work on, primarily due to its design simplicity, parts availability, and standard engineering choices.

Nice looking Lobo! Keep the turbines please!!

And I was very distracted by your GT350R there too 😍 Love that Voodoo magic... Late 2010s was peak modern Ford due to that car and various other vehicles they had at the time too.

I missed my little Maverick yesterday. I had to pick up my old Altima about three hours away with my car hauler, so out came the F-350 Diesel reporting for Superduty. When you gift a vehicle to family apparently it comes with a free lifetime service contract. I spent all yesterday hauling mile after mile.

My Waze GPS app betrayed me with miles of a curvy narrow road to avoid construction traffic. Apparently I was not the only victim as this narrow little country lane with 15mph hairpin curves was very populated. I didn't even notice the castle next to me as nightfall claimed it's right and my LED headlights flickered. At 12.3 mpg, I really missed my 32mpg+ Maverick. My 30 minute rest area break near the Toyota plant where I worked for three years was interrupted by an upper body workout of five jugs of last year's emergency diesel being dumped into Mr. Thirsty's tank. A double dose of FORD PM22 additive and off I went.

Yeah, as I grow more plaques in my 62 year old brain, I am getting dumber and forgetful, but buying my Maverick was a surprisingly good decision. 👍 The highlight of my trip to Greater Cincinnati was Skyline Chili and the kindhearted waitress that fed me like royalty. I wore my chili stained shirt like a badge of honor all the way to my truck where I changed. 😆 You should have heard some young college ladies giggling at that site. I must have looked like a pitiful old fool!
