My nicely equipped hybrid is all around great. If I had to do it all over again I'd get the 2wd Lariat instead of the XLT. Take occasional long drives but averaging mid 40s mpg. Don't feel I'm skimping on power. Have had a Maverick for 3 years.
I drove BMWs for 20/25 years, retired now, had a 22 XLT FX4 lux and loved it, drove that 3.5 years got a loaded Lariat, don't miss BMWs, retired now 9 years and I think the Lariat has more options than the BMW did 8 years ago. I always had a pickup for weekends f150, Ram, Ranger, Dakota, Bronco 11, Jeeps none of them as comfy as the Lariat and don't have half the options and get twice the gas mileage plus so easy to park.
I think its a easy choice are you looking for comfort with AWD and good gas mileage or do you need a off road vehicle. I was surprised with the Hybrids power it's got 60 less HP than the 2.0 I don't miss it at all, has plenty of get up and go, I don't go over 70mph much, speed limits here are 55 most people stay in the 65 range and nobody will bother you unless you're a ahole in and out lanes and tailgating. My next vehicle is a Lobo 702. Didn't mention during recent snow storm the Lariat was a beast in the deep snow with factory tires would be even better with a set of snow tires.

I feel like I wasn't givin enough time to find my proper seat position for the Maverick.
If you don't want to try the rental option as some others have suggested, you could also find an analogue at CarMax. They let you take the vehicle for a solo test drive and can spend as much time with it afterward in the parking lot to get a feel for it, try all the buttons, look it over, fit your child seats, etc.

I suggest taking the test drive immediately and then coming back to look around the vehicle. They tend to get a bit nervous if you depart for the test drive but don't come back within 20 minutes or so. You can also inquire about a 24-hour test drive.

For me the Ranger doesn't get the fuel economy and isn't as city-friendly for a daily driver, and it won't tow what an F150 does.
I landed solidly in the midsize pickup segment before the Maverick came about because I figured it was a Swiss army knife of vehicles. I can squeeze it into downtown parking garages and on narrow off road trails, but still tow a car on a flat deck trailer.

I almost felt like I was paying the same money for "less" truck because the midsize gets basically the same fuel economy, but the midsize also fits in a standard residential garage and it's a lot easier to do maintenance on since it's not as big or tall, and parts are a little cheaper.

Yep, my buddy was in the same situation, but he bought the lightly used F150. It barely fits in his garage, with all things in their perfect location. I went over to his house and watched as he pulled it in, it was that close on the roof and overall length. I guess that's why there are options.

As far as my choice on hybrid or tremor. I think I will enjoy the tremor more, because my current car only gets average 20mpg. The tremor is probably so much more fun to drive over the hybrid. This is the main reason why I think I should get a Tremor or the hybrid. I believe getting 30mpg at most is good enough for a small fun truck. I think I would be bored or tired of the Hybrid quickly.

Hey there! Way to go on the tremor. Love the color. I was on the fence and ended up going with the hybrid.....Then I spent about a grand to make it LOOK like a tremor haha! I love the MPG since I run around all day bidding jobs, but honestly, if I had to do it over again, I would have gone Tremor. The bummer is that a dealership near me had a leftover 2025 (new body style though) Velocity blue Tremor that would have looked great without logos, for the same price. Oh well, either way I love my little blue Mav. Great choice though!

Looks great, I’m also wanting to get those bushwacker fenders. Send me more shots of the fenders if you can. I am also open for any other suggestions on upgrades.

Congratulations! Here are the Mabett "nonbolt-on" look fenders for comparison. Super easy installation and compatible with mud flaps if you like those. Not as tough looking but cleaner imo.

a few more angles of the flares. Make sure you look up Husky Liners flares now. They bought out the Bushwacker name. I had to run 1 1/4" hubcentric spacers to fill these out. Without that, the tires look way too far in. With the right wheel offset, it would be fine. I just happen to really like the stock wheels this year. And of course I LOVE the stock Tremor wheels!

Ha! That is funny that you brought these up. This was literally the second option I was looking at! Ultimately, I went with the Bushwackers because I like the bolt look. I do like these as well, though. Those same flares can be had by Maxina (I think it is, or maybe xipopix) in a combo that includes plastic inner liners and mudflaps... very enticing. I ended up just buying the inner liners because I hate the felt crap they put in the front of these. You have to clean it with a VACUUM! I know that it's for sound, but let's be honest, the Hybrid is not quite by any stretch!

The ones with the reflectors are made (or packaged) by a couple of different brands now. Here is the kit I was talking about that has those flares, along with mudflaps and inner liners. A great deal,
