This is probably because I'm missing something obvious, but . . . where in the blazes are the jack points on a '25?

I can see from the diagrams in the manual roughly where they should be, but when I crawled under, I couldn't find the arrows that are supposed to be pointing to them (per the manual).

I have my jack, four jackstnds, oil, filter, torque wrenches, impact hammer, and such standing by, but . . .

My plan is to loosen the lug nuts, put the jack and puck on the pinch weld midway between wheels on each side, and get it up on all four.

So where are these mythical points? a picture from underneath would be really useful!
Hey Doc, I'm only 70 but have had cataract surgery which did help my eyes. I still had difficulty finding those lift points, but once I did, I used florescent green spray paint, about 1 inch X 1 inch right over those little triangle marks. I used a bright color so if I needed to jack it up in the dark (tire change or whatever) I would be able to locate the marks easily. You can't see the green at all unless you look under the edge of the truck! I noticed others here have marked theirs in several different ways also. Good luck!

I find this metal puck more durable than the rubber ones. Magnet in the grove to hold it in place while I position the jack…

Thank you. The Potauto puck looks good being that it is aluminum and having that magnet feature. I read that it has a 3 inch diameter which looks like it will fit perfectly in the pinch weld.

Just curious about the type and weight rating of your four jack stands that you have as I need to get some also. How do you support the pinch weld using the jack stands? Is there a pinch weld support/adapter that fits on the top of the jack to make it secure?
I needed a new jack anyway so I bought this one along with the jack stands. Works well.

Someone had posted using aluminum tape on pinch weld location for the jack.
good idea.

I already possess pink nail polish for the most manly of reasons: marking the starting link when sharpening my chainsaw chain!

Overkill.

Two are three ton, for the E150 I had at the time, while the other pair are 2-1/4 ton that I bought by accident. All Craftsman.

I got this one:

It was $9.99 delivered (now $12!), and was already in Walmart's inventory for delivery.

I'll use it for the jack, and jack stands at the jack points.

I use ramps when I change my oil. Easier than jacks and plenty of clearance. There are many options, mine are plastic…
I used to.

And then one got kicked partway out and was crushed by the vehicle. (I forget which one, probably one of my front drive Cadillacs.)

For some reason I kept them around wasting space after that, even though I'm terrified to go under a vehicle they're supporting.

edit - $1000 for a set of 4….way out of my price range:)

I needed a new jack anyway so I bought this one along with the jack stands.
If I weren't already overrun . . . I have my 3 ton Pittsburgh, my father's venerable 3 ton craftsman, a three ton low profile, a small hydraulic jack, and a pile of cadillac scissor jacks!

Yeah, I'd say that, but my expected permanent solution is a pair of these:

riding on one of these:

Pricey, but cheaper than giving up a garage slot once it's built!

This is a 2024 but should still be the same?

First and last sections of the pinch weld between the rocker panel clips. Rear one is more obvious.

apparently, my 25 Lariat has plastic panels where these others don't, obscuring the arrows:

So I used the puck below where the doors meet on each side, the larger jack stands in the front, and the smaller in the back:

This generally worked well, except that:

1) Cheap Chinese manufacturing on the puck. One of the magnets was so weakly bound to the puck that it stuck to the first pinch weld it touched instead of the puck when it was pulled away!

2) I lowered the back wheels after rotating the tires, so that I could get the front wheels higher (the smaller back jacks were at the the furthest extension I felt comfortable with). I'd had to use the front ones sideways, as the plastic panels were in the way of the reaching arms. Apparently a bad idea; as the right front was lowered, it slid and punched a hole.

3) It took over 6 qts of oil before it was showing up on the dipstick. I'll read again in the morning after it's had time to settle.

Possibly useful info:

  • I was using a Ryobi 18V impact wrench. It easily took the lug nuts off. Set on 3 ( it has 1 2 3 A), it tightened lunges to about a half turn of 150 ftlbs.
  • My new icon 1/2 twin beam torque wrench was a lot more pleasant and easier to use than my older simple one. better leverage from longer length, solid, and a firmer click. It was on a one day deal for $99 this weak. (I'd stated using my father's old craftsman with an indicator [which maxed out at 150], but it as dependent upon whether or not it's needle was touching the background. It seemed to woefully understate.]

I can't convince myself that that the left circle has an arrow and not a dirt smudge!

but I can see the one on the right now.

I had both "wings" of the rack under triple pinch weld, as I couldn't find a position with the slot at the weld that wouldn't have the wings punching through plastic.

When I first set up, I lay on the ground to align. I foolishly didn't do that when I lowered the Maverick back down after removing the rear jacks.

If I ever do this again, I'll get pucks for at least the front. Hopefully, though, all future changes will be on a rack.

They are in your pics. 😬

May not have helped reduce that damage, though.
Don't those look like indents?
24MY is an outdent - pretty easy to feel it sticking out from surface around it without looking.

Nah they are definitely out. In the pic on the right the brightest light comes from the left for both the triangle and the pinch weld. Plus the far side of the triangle is visible along the bottom but thin as the camera is almost level with the surface.

Really ?

I didn’t need to buy anything when I jacked mine up. It’s in the owners manual.

How do you use that with your Maverick? Do you jack up the whole side of the truck?
Yes, you place it under the front and rear jack points on one side.

It makes tire changes a lot easier, and it doesnt torque the truck at a weird angle so it requires less effort then jacking up one point.
