So, it's obviously not the best written article. Kinda reads like an AI summary of a CR chart. Nevermind that.

What I'm curious about is the dismissive language around the Hybrid. I've read A LOT about the Maverick - pro reviews, reddit subs and here - and I feel like I could provide a decent accounting of the overall sentiments and common complaints. And none of it points towards "the hybrid model specifically being among the least-reliable vehicles in general for a given model year, as opposed to the robust standard variant."
I think you'd be shocked if you knew how easy it is to create content that leads people to the conclusions you want them to believe.

It wouldn't surprise me if Ford contributed to or paid for this in order to move the Ecoboosts. They have zero problems moving hybrid units and everything you hear from actual owners (aside from the 12v battery) are usually incredibly positive.

Fair enough. My father, who I think it's fair to say has moderately strong anti-Ford opinions, sent it to me this morning and I wanted to make sure there wasn't something I'd missed in my research.
The question you need to ask, beyond the questionable article, is why your father sent it to you in the first place... Looks like poor judgement.

The article appears to be quoting Consumer Reports but really isn't. They are mentioned to make the click bait look legitimate.

Oh, that's easy: he knows I'm in the market and have been impressed with the Maverick, but he thinks I'd be happier with a Tacoma.

He *has* also sent me several articles praising the Maverick, though.

The question you need to ask, beyond the questionable article, is why your father sent it to you in the first place...

Who knows where these writers are coming from? Anywhere they can make a profit, no doubt. Just like our lamestream media. From personal experience over the years, I've had no Ford issues aside from the long wait and a couple of friends are pretty happy with the exception of the guy with the '22 who had some warranty repairs.

AI is very scary. It creates so much pure garbage. Every time I hear that it may be used to help with a medical diagnosis, I throw up my hands. People will die.

LOL. I've never actually heard someone use that term, unless they were making fun of the sort of person that uses that term.

It's an honor to encounter one of you in the wild! Of course, now I need to back away slowly...

'26 Lariat Hybrid is the plan.

Get a 2025 or 2026, have had all years, the newer ones are the best with 0 issues. The hybrid rules !

"Compared to other years, this model year has by far the fewest issues with the vital functions of the car, with Consumer Reports listing only one major complaint, which relates to the transmission taking a while to go up or down a gear. This applies to most model years as well, with almost all mechanical faults easily corrected with replacement components or addressed in official recalls."

^^ That doesn't even sound like a hybrid to me.

Any time see a comparison to the Ford Maverick and the term "in it's class" ... first thought ...
It's pretty much alone ... especially the hybrid.

Anyways .....gonna keep on truckin' until it gets totaled due to a collision with a falling leaf.
Hell with the leaf. 85mph into a large moth will get your attention .... still cleaning my duster off the windshield.

Most reviews are what one person said about their vehicle to a friend in the magzine office who was not happy with some reply received from Ford about not being able to let go of the steering wheel while drinking coffee and on the phone and reaching for a doughnut.....

Drive it like you stole and enjoy it !!! I don't even have the Hybrid but it still makes me upset that nobody actually reads the numbers properly. If you say 40% have an issue well.... but if you say 1% have an issue with one geear or whatever then clearly state what you are talking about.

I hate reporters. Just like politicians.

I just finished some upgrades to my ecoBoost and enjoy it even more. Drive the hybrid till it drops just like you said :) :) :)

Ohhhhhh...I just realized something. I don't know the best way to ask it, but... is the average age for a user here very, very high?

a large part of us are Boomers. There was a breakdown not too long ago. we have users from the younger groups, the ones in between and older retired boomers. We all get along fine

Its a valueless article filled with contradictions about another article itself built a flawed evaluation algorithm

It’s slashdot trying to be relevant again and missing the mark by taking the lazy AI way out

everything the wrote was “generalized” into a homogeneous blob or words to no effect.

No doubt about that.
I've found with the AI "helpers" that you can ask a question slightly differently, and get two completely opposite answers to the same question. That makes it useless for any important decision, or it should, but likely many take the "answers" as valid, when there is a good chance such is not the case.
AI may give you a quick answer, but the old phrase "quick and dirty" seems to apply consistently.

Not in my twenties anymore but worked for 50 years of my life supporting myself and have enjoyed every ride I've ever had :) If I could buy a Nissan GTR I would !!!! I'm 63 and retired and living life to the fullest. Do the same and enjoy yourself everyday. :):)
