I have a '23 XLT Hybrid (35 months old, 22Kmiles). Never failed to start or gone to deep sleep, but it has been increasingly going to battery saver and cutting things like entry lights. Dealer says battery tests a little low, but not in warranty. Was in Costco recently and they had the Interstate H4 AGM battery for $137 + tax + $3 disposal fee + $15 core charge (36 mo prorated warranty, 480CCA, 52 Ahr, 75' reserve). To try to avoid problems over the winter, I bought it Monday and installed it Tuesday. Estimate it to take about 40', took me a little longer because I had a slip up. No need to remove housing, you need a long extension and a magnetic pickup. Remove the neg first then the hold down bolt & clamp, then slide the battery to get clearance to remove the Pos clamp. Remove battery and reinstall in reverse order. Then reset BMS.

You have been getting Deep sleep so you really can't say Never.

Deep sleep is when battery saving mode is enabled and things like the dome lights don't come on when opening a door.

Incorrect.

Deep Sleep Mode is NOT battery saving mode.

You could count it as a final step of battery saving mode if you wanted to. But what Lou said was completely accurate and possible. Fordpass app was changed at some point to include DSM as an extension of battery saver. But it also alerts about battery saver with no DSM alert.

Deep Sleep Mode is when the modem is turned off - and you are alerted that obviously remote access is disabled now. That is IT.

You described the battery saving functions - which may NEVER get to DSM level.
Include passenger keyless entry sensor too.

Last winter on a battery that hovered around 45% Ford SOC scale, and 11.8 V, had max battery saving mode on.
Lights off on door open when exiting, and on door close on entry almost immediately.

But I never once had DSM alert. Actually never had battery saving alert either, but I think that it's Lariat that warns on that.

FWIW My 2025 Eco Boost Maverick also came with the AGM battery!!
I thought all Eco's with automatic stop/start come with AGM batteries. My 2022 Escape did.

Will an H6 fit in the Maverick? I know the H5 was a real stretch....

Oh right I don’t know for sure. The Wallyworld fitment guide said the H6 would fit my 24’
I’ll make sure they have an H5 in stock when my AGM craps out and try and put the H6 in while I’m there in the parking lot.

Next time I’m in I’ll measure both.

Good point.

What's the difference in size between an H5 car battery and an H6 car battery?

H-6 is the battery for the EB, H-5 is a stretch for the hybrid, as a former EB owner I bet you know this.
Edit: @Cherokee the H-6 is the correct battery for your EB.

Honestly wasn't even thinking EB since the 12v issues discussed here are largely hybrid related, and I never cared to look at my 12v in the Tremor because it never had any issues.

Thanks for the correction/info.

Huh? H4 is the correct battery size. An H5 will mostly fit if you bend the back of the tray down. Where did you get the idea that an H6 will fit?

Might want to follow or read thread again, this I knew. Others here, seem somewhat not aware. Hybrid battery is different from the EcoBoost.
