Reminds me of the Altezza era 20 years ago. First ones look cool, then it gets old quickly. Once you see the manufacturers making them OEM (Altezza: Ford Fusion, various Mitsubishis, Lexas, Nissan Altima, etc) the fad has passed...
Shooottt, I've been waiting for Altezza tails to make a return.

I’m not gonna have this argument again… 💀 but the taillight lenses themselves are tinted and it’s evident by the color tone of the tail lights and how dingy the light sections that aren’t lit up appear.
It’s not as egregious as the other ones currently available, but it’s just frustrating that it is at all.
These are on my truck for product testing. I can 100% confirm that they are clear.

The black housing, black circuit boards, reflections, and camera light balancing all make it appear darker than it really is.

Here's the same lens style in their the Bronco tails photographed in a whitebox studio environment. The tail lights they put on my truck are just as clear as this.

side note: they do call this colorway "smoked", but that's because of the white/gray diffuser in the C-shaped optic. All other optics / lenses are clear or red.

I figured you still had them on yours

I’m still trying for some clears 😔 hoping someone will design something other than smoked tails. The all black look when no lights are on throws me off
To me, these do not look smoked. They look like the are black backs/housings and a clear lens.

I see. Well it’s the “smoked” outer shell lens that I’m referring to. Generally the inner optic diffusing parts are translucent white and the smoked outer lens makes them appear grey. I have a set of taillights for my other car that I tore apart that do exactly that. Partially smoked outer lens, and the diffusers in the inside are milky white but appear grey because of the smoked lens.

Yes, and to further clarify, the outer lens you are referring to is fully clear on this product.

Is the C-light element clear (smoked) then or tinted red? I’m hoping clear because I hate the red on my green paint.

I know the lens is clear for sure cause it uses LEDs on the inside. But when I say clear I’m referring to the clears from the 90s and early 2000s with a clear / milky white lense and chrome housings. Basically OEM tails with no red lens. These do look cool, just not fully my style
