Yikes ... Ford did tell me they were "wear parts" so it is "normal" to fail around that mileage, which caused a nice argument with the poor customer service rep. Never had to replace struts or control arms in any of my vehicles, so it is disappointing. I did know I would be in for some issues...
100%. I had to have both front struts and BOTH control arms replaced at 34k miles. The control arms failed due to failed ball joints. I was outside of warranty by years, but Ford did help with some of the cost for the repair. I was expecting to be part of this recall, but surprised that I am...
.... "Customers can determine if their vehicle is included in this recall (26S36) by entering their 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) at www.ford.com/support/recalls. Owners may also contact Ford’s Customer Service Center at 1-833-807-3673 for assistance in arranging a tow and...
Last week I had both front struts and control arms (failed bushings and ball joints) replaced on my 2022 at 34k miles. Mine is not showing this recall though, so just some crappy parts for me!
100% ... but there are also dealers who push off warranty work to take on other higher paying jobs. I have seen it within one I worked at and there are plenty of customers who just take what they say as gospel. This is why I always recommend calling other dealerships, Ford directly, etc. to make...
Call another dealer. As I mentioned (and another reply to this post), CVs have been ordered, delivered and installed on other vehicles within the past 1-2 weeks.
If for some reason the dealer is being honest (judging by the rental car restrictions and information I have seen on CV ordering, I'm...
When I was picking up my Maverick two days ago I was in the waiting room with a guy who was getting his vehicle back after a CV replacement. His wait time, 3 days total (bringing it in, ordering the part, replacement). This could be the dealer playing games.
I would call Ford Customer Service...
Zero off-roading and everything stock. 34k in about 3.5ish years of ownership. Its insane that all of this failed so quickly. Originally thought the struts went bad and they might not be loading the arms at curb weight, but with the ball joints going bad it seems like some faulty parts.
Outside of the popular CV Axle issue, has anyone had any of their struts, control arms or anything else replaced? At 34k (out of warranty by years), I had to have both front struts replaced along with each control arm due to failed bushings and ball joints. Ford helped on the repair, but I...
Exactly ... its a failed part (manufacturing or assembly) and this should not have gone out at 33k. Also, it was showing signs of failing earlier ... Just a disappointing experience with Ford all around, but not from the dealer, which is surprising.
I wanted to share my recent experience in case it helps anyone else dealing with warranty issues. Before my bumper to bumper warranty expired, I had quite a bit of work done (2022 XLT LUX Hybrid):
Both CV axles replaced
Brake pads and rotors replaced due to excessive noise (one pad was cracked)...
If it is a coating or any form of wax/sealant the water will bead up on the surface. Some will also feel very slick to the touch. If nothing is on the surface, water will look flat, no beading, etc. From there, water activity will diminish as the surface becomes dirty and a wash with a...
I just ripped off the stock tires and moved to 235/65/17 Firestone Destination AT/2. These were the lightest AT tires I could find to balance a more aggressive look with MPGs. Since I was keeping the stock XLT rims, I was limited if I wanted to stay under the 30 lbs mark per tire in ATs. If you...
I've had this same issue (22' Hybrid XLT Lux 34k miles) for about year now and my past dealer could not find out what was causing it. I just moved to South Texas and I need an oil change, so I am going to try my luck there. This time I'm mentioning the sway bars and really pushing to go on a...
