Robert,

See here for the HTML version of the 2025 Maverick owners manual that I'm referencing, which I would think is the most current version:

Towing Your Vehicle - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) - Recreationally Towing Your Vehicle

The last item is the 15 minute wait.

I do see that it does not match what the PDF version (printed version 2) you posted states, so there's a discrepancy between the HTML version and the printed version on Ford's site.

ETA - in small print, the PDF version appears to have an October 2024 date stamp on it:

" Maverick (CFE) Canada/Mexico/United States of America, enUSA, Edition date: 202410, DOM "

I just joined after lurking for a month or so to try and get more information on the 15 minute requirement that's new for 2025. I do see it in the 2025 Maverick owners manual online:

Switching Neutral Tow Off
  1. Switch your vehicle on in accessory mode.
  2. Fully press the brake pedal.
  3. Shift into park (P).
  4. Fully release the brake pedal.
  5. Switch the ignition off.
  6. Before starting the engine, wait 15 minutes with all doors closed and without interacting with the vehicle.

MasterChief - can you clarify if you've had to push the truck to get it out of the road within those 15 minutes? If so, I assume you're leaving it in neutral tow mode after disconnecting to do so?

Has anyone asked/gotten a response from Ford about this? We're shopping for our next flat-tow vehicle and really like the Maverick as an option, but that requirement would take the 2025 off our list.
I don’t know why Ford has that requirement.

I now have about 6,000 miles towing the Maverick. Most of the time I wait the 15 minutes. Other times I have not. I’ve driven it out of the way.

So far no problem.

Does anyone have an e-mail for someone at Ford associated with the flat towing procedure that I can pose this question to (and ask about the discrepancy between the PDF/printed owners manual and the online HTML one)?

I've reached out to Ford corporate about the new 15 minute wait (and the discrepancy between HTML and PDF versions of the owner's manual) and will report back when I hear more.

Also watching: If Ford provides a valid reason the 25' Hybrid needs this 15 minute wait vs previous model years, then yes, I'll do my best to oblige. However, as other posters have mentioned, many times in my 44 years of RVing, I've arrived at a campground with an assigned site, others are behind me on the narrow, one lane campground road, so I need to unhook toad quickly, move it, get RV parked, as a courtesy to others. Waiting 15 minutes is out of the question. Anxious to see a reason!

Test tow today, all is well. For those using the RVI brake 3 for your auxiliary brake make sure your settings are set for active I tested with pressure set to 5psi and 10psi, I left it at 10psi. Charging was working as normal

I have my RVIbrake 3 obviously set to "Active" mode and sensitivity to 10psi. 10psi has negligible effect and 5psi zero. Leaving mine at 10 since I'm sure it will apply toad brakes hard enough in a 'panic' stop, which is most important.

Could you explain and/or post pictures of where you drilled through the Maverick firewall to run the cable for the brake pedal? I assume this is the RVi Shadow kit, correct?

No, RVI Brake3, older version than the Shadow. Been using it nine years, works much like the old Brake Buddy supplemental brake. It sits on floor & physically cramps to brake pedal. No drilling thru firewall required. With drivers door open, kneel on ground with flashlight in hand & drivers seat pulled back. Up high on firewall above brake pedal there's a rubber grommet where wires can be pushed thru. This is the access hole I use to run 12V hot wire and Brake away cable. PM me if you want a Pic which I can do thus afternoon.

Greetings everyone, long-time lurker, first time poster.

I also am the lucky owner of a 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid AWD Lariat. My intent is to flat tow the Maverick and I'v spent a lot of time looking at towing components. I've settled on a Roadmaster base plate, Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bars and a Blue Ox Patriot braking system.

For those of you who have done the install of Roadmaster components yourself, I have a question regarding the wiring for the Maverick's tail/brake lights. My intent is to use the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit [eTrailer no: RM-15267]. From information on eTrailer's website, it appears that I must also utilize the Roadmaster Brake Lite Relay Kit [eTrailer no: RM-88400]. This is because when you are towing and come up to a stop light and want to make a left turn, the motorhome's left turn signal will blink and the right brake light will be on steady. On the towed Maverick, both brake lights will be on steady because the brake signal overrides the turn signal, so there is no left turn signal blinking - it's my understand that the RM-88400 kit will fix this problem.

However, to utilize the RM-88400, you have to tap into the factory brake light switch at the brake pedal. The problem is, for 2025 Ford moved this switch to somewhere inaccessible (I looked at my brake pedal and there was no brake light switch to be seen). Because of this, eTrailer says that I would also need a Roadmaster Stoplight Switch Kit [eTrailer no: RM87GR]. It's not entirely clear to me how to wire this switch into the relay kit.

Before I go down the path of contacting Roadmaster, I'd be very interested to hear how difficult wiring the lights for your 2025 Maverick went. Were you able to just use a universal wiring kit with diodes, or did you need to do more? I'd really like to get by with just the basic wiring kit and not have to mess with a relay kit and/or extra brake switch.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

We are in the process of setting up flat tow as well for our 2025 Maverick Lariat and we were told by eTrailer AND roadmaster that the brake light relay is NOT needed on the 2025 anymore. However, we are having an issue where the tail lamps are not flashing in the same manner as when the Maverick is not connected to the RV and not in neutral tow mode. In this scenario only the top portion flashes but not the bottom. We looked at several videos for the diode kits on etrailer web site and we noticed that at the beginning of the videos some Maverick tail lights flash on top AND bottom and some only flash on the top. It appears they have the RV hazards on and the Maverick is connected to the RV. We assume the Maverick is in neutral tow mode. Have you installed the Diode kit yet? If so, what do you see?

Towed my 25 Lariat Hybrid 4k towing for the first time just now with my new Blue Ox set up. Works great! My shop steered me towards Blur Ox over other brands - says tbey are more robust than others 🤷🏻‍♂️
I am pretty sure sure all will work equally well. Glad to have my toad set up at last…
