Like all above, I've always avoided extended warranty but when I bought my 24 I was offered an extended warranty actually managed by the owners of the Ford dealership I bought it from. It was tied into the purchase price and was so inexpensive I couldn't refuse. My deductible is $100 and covers everything except normal wear and tear for as long as I own it!!!!!
How much was it and what milage and term.

I did an online quote and it was $1,700 for an additional 3 years or 36K . Mine runs out next month. That seems high, deductible is $150. It was from Ford Protect.

Ford doesn’t offer either 3 years + 36k additional coverage OR a $150 deductible.

Where did you get your online quote from?

Like you - I have never ever purchased an extended warranty on any of the thousands of purchases I’ve made over the decades.

Until my 2025 Lobo. $28/mo for 66 months from my dealer…”We will remedy any breakdown of your vehicle except items listed under “what we will not cover”.

The list of items they DO cover goes way beyond power train. Electronics is a large section of what IS covered - and the Maverick is stuffed with electrical & electronic items.

What is NOT covered is the usual maintenance/consumable stuff - but glass stuff is NOT covered. Welds & Hinges & Paint is NOT covered. Cosmetic stuff like gaps in panels is NOT covered. Rust is Not covered. Plus you must maintain your car with them or keep DIY receipts.

I can cancel anytime - but I feel a lot less worry knowing what IS covered. And I’m not even one to worry lol - but I’m keeping the coverage.

I’ve owned a dozen new cars none with extended warranty. My last car, a Corolla Hatchback, I think the finance guy & me both laughed when extended warranty came up.
I totally agree. I would rather not buy either but the extended warranty has helped my wife with her Focus trans issues over the years and has bailed me out on my long ago Chevy Astro that otherwise would have been serious $$. That said my previous Ford Edge has been an outstanding trouble free vehicle for the 11 years we owned it. So did I buy for my new Maverick???? Yes I did. It’s a nice piece of mind. IMO

As soon as I decided that I liked the truck enough to keep it I bought the extended warranty. If I had any reservation or thinking I was going to move on before the warranty ran out then I was just going to pass. I was holding off pending the announcement for the next generation trucks. Specifically a Maverick sized EV/EREV was what I was hoping we would hear about. Sadly that does not appear to be in the cards. There will be a midsized truck, but older battery tech, and too small a battery to be useful. As soon as those details started to get leaked I just went ahead and bought the extended warranty on the Maverick. Looks like I am going to own this truck for a good long time.
I also decided to get the ESP from Granger Ford, for "piece of mind" due to what the cost of repairs might be in the coming years. Being my first hybrid, with all the electric things, if something goes bad in the next 7 years, (I got a 10 year plan) I am covered. If I sell the truck, after owning it 7 years, I can transfer the remaining 3 years to the next owner, who will have the same 3 year warranty I got when I bought it new! Even Ford can't offer that on a 7 year old vehicle.

Ford Protect,

I just called my dealership and they offered my 8 years 50K, I drive less that 7K a year, $100 deductible for $955. Is that a good deal? They matched another dealer.

It's the same price as Granger and only 48k, not 50k. Assuming you drive less than 7k a year, it may cover you. I have a 8yr/100k on mine 2023 XLT.

Actually back on the fence about doing this again.

I was defaulting to PremiumCare, 10 yr, 125k and it was pushing that over $4k.

Backing down to an 8 year, 100k, w/first day rental and lighting protection and it comes out to $1,970 which is still quite expensive but also reasonable. Would basically be paying for 3 years and 40k of additional coverage beyond the powertrain and 5 years, 60k of extended bumper to bumper.

Intriguing, but not quite enough to pull the trigger.

What's the difference between extra care and premium care?
If you do decide to buy either plan be sure you pay the extra for exterior lighting. Lights are not automatically included and replacing one headlight is over $1000 now. The days of just replacing a burned out bulb are over.

Read the fine print bud.
ALL these warranties start from brand new & 1st miles.
It is not 3 year & 36k miles starting when you pay for the warranty!!
You already get a 3 year 36k mile bumper to bumper (non-wear items) factory warranty from Ford, thats the reason its quoted so cheap you're just giving the warranty company free money, if theres a problem in 3 years 36k miles the warranty firm will just be reimbursed by Ford.

Same with buying a 5 year 60k mile powertrain warranty, you ALREADY have a 5 year 60k mile powertrain warranty from Ford.

The ONLY warranties that make ANY sense are the max year & max miles warranties, when you pay $4000 for a 7 year 100k mile warranty, you are actually only paying for an additional 7-5=2 year & 100k-60k=40k mile powertrain warranty
& stuff like suspension parts & electrical 7-3=4 year or 100k-36k=64k miles extra coverage.

The electrical here is only extra for ecoboost,

The hybrids electrical system, motor-generator, 460vdc traction battery, inverters, 12VDC dc-dc converter fed by the traction battery, is Ford warrantied for 8 years 100k miles so guess what you get extra buying a 7year 100k mile warranty for a hybrid electric powettrain?
Zero zilch, giving free money to a warranty firm who then is reimbursed by Ford.

THATs why warranty costs skyrocket for more than 7 years 100k miles because those may have expenses the warranty firm will need to actually pay for - but if they can sell a bunch of "super deals on 3 year 36k warranties" thats guaranteed 100% pure profit for the warranty firm, even if your vehicle blows up tomorrow

Guys if youre buying a warranty for automotive electrical components going bad, youre better off getting your vehicle sprayed with Krown or any lanolin non-conductive moisture displacement barrier that moves by capillary action creating a moisture & oxygen starved barrier preventing corrosion or oxidation of wiring harness connectors.

Rustlick is another product used in recovering industrial machinery electronics submerged in floods, its amazing but is solvent based without a respirator it will knock you on your ass from the solvent fumes, and probably too expensive to do your entire vehicle with.

I'm buying it via Granger - I have a month left to do it, I came from decades of multiple used vehicles and got sooo tired (and broke) paying for repairs, especially hard to find electrical issues and BCM reprogramming. I got a deal only paying 22K out the door for my pure base xl, it's been great except for that CV replacement that was under warranty, but at the loaded rate of about $125+ an hour for labor ... and continuing to go up...even a couple relatively minor fixes will pay for it. Best thing to do if you're planning on getting the extended warranty is to get it as soon as you can, because it goes up once or twice a year and no you are not paying for something you're not using during your B2B manufacturer's warranty - you are locking in a price when you get beyond that.
