What are the odds a sticker is still readable on those oldest ones...

yes, my build date is Oct ‘21. If I get a chance this week I’ll crawl under and look for any sticker.

The date range is definitely weird on this. Why that date range?

My 22' Mav was built in November 2021 so I'm not included in this recall - but what happened starting in December (just days after mine was built) that screwed up the CV axles?

Was their first batch made to spec and then the next batch arrived and it was screwed up and no one noticed?

That being said I'm at 81,000 and no noticeable issues yet - 90% freeway miles.

Haven't a bunch of people with models made after Nov 23, 2022 had to replace their CV axles?

Actually - they probably discovered or due to inventory supply issues used a beefier CV axle then they intended to at the start - and realized the extra cost if they kept going with it.

Can't have that!

Oh - there's that pallet of cheaper CV axles that were actually spec'd - those will work just fine!

Just saw this on my FordPass App and also a post showing the actual CSP on Facebook.

I had mine replaced about 18 months ago @33,000 miles. Now, the issue has returned at 61,000 miles. I took the truck in today and the dealership tells me that the original boots were defective and have cracked. They will be replacing them free. Just an FYI

Today 9/29/2025 I got CSP 25N09 for my lariat hybrid early vin # AND for XLT LUX hybrid late vin #. "ONE TIME REPAIR 10YR/150K MILE replacement if vibration noticed on acceleration.
If you have paid for half shaft replacement before date of this letter (September 2025) you have until 10/31/2025 to present receipts to servicing dealer for reimbursement.

Back in the early 80s I worked graveyard shift. The quality inspector on the shift had a saying he used all the time when inspecting machines prior to shipment. "It's good enough for who it's for." He basically was just there to draw a paycheck. Eventually when failures in the field started popping up and they researched who signed off on the final inspection he lost his paycheck.

As he should have. In my opinion, quality inspector is one position that the person can't afford to just go through the motions, especially with a major component the vehicle depends on for operation.

Besides - you already have the beefier axles people have been upgrading to in order to sidestep the issue returning.
Well - hybrids can't use them.

After 10 yrs or 150K it's likely down to normal wear & tear anyway, or at least almost impossible to prove if manufacturing defect.

Yes, but I saw that if you've already had it done at your own cost you can submit a reimbursement claim by October 31.
