Well it looks like both of my Front Axles are toast on my 2022/FX4/4KTOW- 36K- Right side was replaced two years ago but with the old not improved shaft- Has anyone had an updated axle shaft fail yet ?

New reports seem to have fallen off a cliff. But interested in input from other folks as well since I think my truck is about to be on its 3rd set in ~30k miles. 😬

🤷‍♂️ First off I'm no expert or have the true knowledge and can't answer your question. So far i have had any issues on my MY22 EB AWD 4K tow at 34K. But i did search the ford parts catalog for the latest part numbers, IF i understood it, it seems these will fit the all the EB trim levels including Tremor MY22 thru MY26. But don't take this as 100% correct, so be sure to research further. Hopefully others that have had issues or are knowledgeable can give better information.

PZ6Z-3B436-B
Positions: Front Right,RIGHT

PZ6Z-3B437-A
Positions: Front Left,LEFT

CV Axle Part has related component that cannot be reused/reinstalled. axle nut:
CCPZ-3B477-B
Positions: LEFT,Rear,RIGHT
Other Names: Cv Joint Nut, Retainer Nut

Maybe Darryl the awesome Ford Tech or any of the other ford tech's on the forum can provide true facts

There's been a few replacements fail here, but mostly on hybrids. The ecoboosts that have failed more then once have mostly been lifted.

Depending on when you got yours, you may have gotten the old part number.

So I brought my 2024 Lariat Ecoboost FX4 4K tow in for vibration (45,230 miles) They replaced the front axels, the PTU and the rear driveshaft. that was 1K miles ago. Just went back in because the passenger front axel has already failed. Clicking while turning LEFT. I dont know if I blame the axel or the tech that replaced it. When I had gotten my truck back from all the other work there were all sorts of fasteners missing from the skit plate and front wheel well liners.

Yikes- I make it a habit to check the skid plate fasteners after every dealer oil change- I wonder why they replaced the PTU & Drive/Shaft ?

They had done the front axels first. No change in Vibration. Then the PTU, no change then the driveshaft. The U-Joints were gritty as hell. That fixed my vibration. Then 1000 miles later shes back in for the passenger half shaft.

I didn't think these drive shafts use u-joints.

So are the dealers doing alignments after these axles are swapped out ?
