This obviously affects way more than the 22 model year. I'm thinking they just don't have the inventory to handle all of it yet so they are rolling this out in phases.

What if you are not experiencing front-end acceleration vibration (how bad is it?)? Will this CSP expire at some point or is this open-ended, or will they just replace them on request?

After 10 yrs or 150K it's likely down to normal wear & tear anyway, or at least almost impossible to prove if manufacturing defect.

You saw the picture?

If you are past 150K, get it done by next summer.

Thanks for the reply. I only have 15k on mine, but if these are gonna wear pre-maturely, seems anybody with a Mav built in the timeline should be offered the replacements.

Only pic I saw was the screenshots added by OP.

EDIT: OK, I see the terms at the top. I've got 7 years or 150k (lol) to go.

Just saw this on my FordPass App and also a post showing the actual CSP on Facebook.

who wants to guess answers to these questions : (1) I had one half shaft replaced a couple months ago, it rides fine now, but per the notice they say that both need to be replaced - anyone think I can just wander in- point to the previous service and expect them to replace the other one ? Or Do I have to wait for the other one to fail and then take it in and then get that one replaced? (2) I'm thinking this is not truly a 'one time' free replacement - doesn't the 5/60K drivetrain cover this anyways? Don't we get these replaced as many times as needed until the guarantee is up? Thanks.

it's gradual and gets worse, you'll notice it on heavier acceleration on the xway starting around 40mph, first you'll think it's just a bumpy road surface eventually you'll realize that's not it. When you coast you won't notice it, on deceleration you won't notice it, when you ramp it back up you will. It's a slow gradual worsening, when (if) you get it take it in.

this is a weird/lucky coincidence as I've been noticing some vibration accelerating full throttle 55-70 mph, but it has been a little inconsistent, and I'm coming up on the 5yr/60k factory powertrain warranty.

the CSP solves my problem in that I no longer care as much when my Ford dealership figures out this is an issue, or if they find only one bad CV joint, and the other is ok for now.

I scheduled an appointment on Monday for a works oil change and told them to drive it and use full throttle at 50 mph (they're right next to a 65 mph road, so no problem) to see what they think.

I noticed mine on a road trip where uphill above 30-40% throttle on the power meter, I would get a slight shimmy. At 60%+, it would shake a lot more. By the end of the roadtrip, 20-30+% throttle would cause the shimmy. Dealer put the truck on the lift, found play in both half shafts and replaced them. They told me it was their 5th replacement that week! No more issues since.

Ford covers the CV axles under their 5/60k powertrain warranty IIRC so those of us with pre-redesigned axles should be able to get them replaced for free anyways as most of them fail in the 20k-30k range.

Just had mine done again. They ordered the axle one day and I had the truck back by noon, the next. If they have them in stock its a Quick job. I had both sides done @ 12k and driver side now, 40k. Everything described above...is it-exactly. Great truck. With shimmy gone I went from 49.3 to 53.7 mpg.

Does anyone have the thread explaining where the failure points and/or design flaws are for these axles?

You are most likely correct. This is just short of a recall for all models up to 2025

almost 57k here and driven relatively hard at times.

I have a lifetime powertrain warranty through the dealership, if this becomes a recurring thing. I'm planning to drive my Maverick another 4 years at least, and maybe then give it to my college aged kid.
