I’ll get in my Mav, and start moving slowly, not touching anything but the steering wheel, and as soon as I hit 20 Kph, ALL the doors lock by themselves! I don’t understand this phenomenon! 😉 Sorry, this was just a joke people, making light of a different thread.

Many cars are required to automatically lock their doors when reaching a certain speed as a safety feature, but the specific speed and whether the feature is active can often be customized or disabled by the driver. The system uses a speed sensor and a body control module (BCM) to detect when the vehicle's speed exceeds a pre-programmed threshold, then sends a signal to the door lock actuators. If the feature isn't working or if you want to change the speed or disable it, you can usually adjust the settings in your vehicle's infotainment or settings menu.
Give me a moment I may have some pictures
PSST, it was a sarcastic joke, albeit, not a very good one! I’m one of the few that read my manual. 😏

In the US, its 13-14 mph and they do.

It's designed that way. I think you can set it to not do that. Either in the settings or at the dealership. But I like the auto lock

That feature can also be used for testing. Went for my driver’s licence for the airport. There is a 20kph speed limit in certain places. During the test, if the doors locked, you failed.

This feature on many vehicles can be used for testing. I went for my airport driver’s licence ( gives access to tarmac etc) and the speed limit in some areas is 20kph. If the door locks activate while driving in these areas, automatic fail. Never watched my speed so closely. 😉

If you lived in Chicago (or other dangerous cities) you would like that autolocking feature.

Normal/standard for most vehicles these days. Some if not all GM products do that as soon as you put it in drive.

My previous car let me set the auto lock for when my seatbelt fastened.
First thing I would do.

What is the benefit of an auto lock that waits until you’re traveling faster than a carjacker can run?

I am not as quick as I used to be, age you know, but even I got the joke and knew it was sarcasm. 😆😄
