I had to use the fuel door release pull tab today. I just got it washed so hopefully the water had something to do with it. Luckily, 58 people on here asked what the green thing was otherwise I’d never have known!

You don't need keys to open the hybrid fuel door. I just showed that in post #3.Maybe he forgot his keys and wanted to refuel.

If a little H2O can EFF things up on our Mavs, Be it eco’s or hybrids, well, I’m jumping off that proverbial bridge!!!You don't need keys to open the hybrid fuel door. I just showed that in post #3.
Maybe this week I'll try running water from a hose over the fuel door and see what happens.
Oh ya? How do you get into a locked Maverick without keys if you don't have a keypad or remember the code? I don't know why you'd want to open the fuel door in this case though. You don't need keys to open the hybrid fuel door. I just showed that in post #3.

That's what I say about the "must stop at first click" fuel people. If I go two or three clicks and the truck gets effe'd up, that's a design flaw by Ford.If a little H2O can EFF things up on our Mavs, Be it eco’s or hybrids, well, I’m jumping off that proverbial bridge!!!
Just FYI - the EB 2.0 has no button for remote open. Push and pop cover manually. That's it's manual release.I thought that thing you pull was for 2.0 gas only engine not hybrid so there is one for hybrid?? I guess I have to look on mine.
As far as key in ignition NEVER has the key been in when I hit button. I pull up to gas pump remove keys open driver door THEN hit button to see gas door pop open.
You have to have keys in the ignition and on to use the emergency fuel door tether.Oh ya? How do you get into a locked Maverick without keys if you don't have a keypad or remember the code? I don't know why you'd want to open the fuel door in this case though.
