A previous gentleman who had his “old” tank replaced with the blue seal tank (different OP & thread) was curious of the “stop sale” on the “old” tank…was originally quoted $1000 for replacement but fought it down to $100.

Thought the old style tank should be recalled for safety issues - but that ain’t gonna happen

Be honest, have you ever really heard of that actually happening to anyone? It reminds of the old urban legend from the 1980's not to flash your headlights at someone because they might be part of a gang initiation and they could chase you down and murder you.

I guess having sugar or mothballs put in your gas tank is kind of like getting your car keyed.
I know folks who've had their cars keyed. My Yaris already been keyed on the drivers door when I bought it.
I personally don't know of anyone who it has had anything added to their fuel tanks just stories.
I believe it has happened, but I have to ask, why it happened??
