Instructions include clear bumpers to stick on the hood to prevent scratches.will it scratch the hood paint on the leading edge?
YesIs that a bug deflector too?
Yes, It is a Blue Ox base plate for towing. Also, I see you have a base plate for towing behind an RV/Motorhome. Had my Blue Ox installed yesterday with the Demco brake controller and a trickle battery charger. I read that the Maverick is an excellent Toad. Can’t wait to find out for myself!
The black square is the radar for the adaptive speed control. That looks great and looks like it will actually deflect rocks from your windshield as well as protect the hood from chips etc.
Can I ask, what all do you have going on in that lower vent grille?
Why is it extending outwards on both sides? shouldn't it be flush? something is not right..I'd rather have the chips versus this "batwing"
It attaches on the underside of the hood. It does not touch the top of the hood. It is designed as a bug deflector. The 'bat wings' extend the coverage to fenders on both sides of the hood. Why is it extending outwards on both sides? shouldn't it be flush? something is not right..
Nice job! Do you think that can be painted to color match the paint?July 12th:
I ordered a Husky Liners Hood Shield $69.99 from @Realtruck.
Received July 31st
pdf: Husky Liners Hood Shield Installation Instructions
Install August 4th
Started with hood open to locate the four buttons under the rubber gasket to remove. I used blue masking tape & a pencil to mark the holes.

I think the Husky Liners Hood Shield looks good with the Black Appearance Package.

It says the color is smoke!!! Does that mean it’s a united clear part? So confusing.July 12th:

I think it is possible.Nice job! Do you think that can be painted to color match the paint?
I wouldn't go through a car wash with that shield; I had the ford one on 2 trucks, I think it's a safer option, I know some guys don't like to stick it to the truck, I don't see why, its never coming off unless you take a heat gun to it. You can't hand wash winter months or maybe it doesn't get cold where you are, it snows and gets very cold here in NY.I got the same one. Took 10 minutes to install. I like the fact that it doesn’t touch your paint.

What is the brand of deflector you have? I definitely want to buy the same type this time around.Instructions include clear bumpers to stick on the hood to prevent scratches.

I placed them direct on the shield:

That is not the same thing as it's not deflecting anything for the windshield protection - nor protecting top of fenders up front.Mine came with what I assume is a factory one. Is the consensus that this will damage the paint as it is touching it? (yes, the truck needs a good wash).
