I got my first Maverick in October of 2023. It was a dealer demo XL. I had a 2023 XLT on order, but had no idea if I’d ever get it.

My 2023 HPR XLT finally arrived and I was excited. Almost two years and 6,000 miles later, I am disappointed in my little truck. Deep sleep, backup cam, interior scratches that make it look older than my 2018 model S and the list goes on.

If it wasn’t covered by a $0 deductible warranty until 2033, I’d probably be getting rid of it. I might get rid of it anyway. I can’t imagine ever recommending buying one to a friend.

Bottom line. I would not buy another Maverick.
In a heartbeat. Best car I've ever had.

I have purchased a 22 EcoBoost Lariat AWD and a 25 EcoBoost Lariat AWD. So yes, I would buy both Mavericks again!!

I really like my 2025 Lariat but I wouldn't buy this specific truck again. I would however, purchase the Tremor I was initially looking at. I bought the Lariat mainly because it was $2k cheaper than the Tremor and it handled better and was quieter (especially tire noise). The reason for the "no buy again" comes down to the colour. Black is beautiful when clean but it shows EVERYTHING! I knew this going in as I've had several black vehicles in the past.
Very True Black Looks Great When clean. I Love the Desert Tan on my 2025 Maverick when it's dirty it doesn't really look dirty and it doesn't show water spots.

Yes and I did by a second one. My first was a 2023 Lariat black out edition and I loved it. I now have a 2025 same model and options and I like the new look and it drives as well as my first one. I am disappointed with the all digital dashboard but othe than that I like the larger wheels and tires and the over all look.

I had a 2023 Bronco Sport Big Bend and liked the Full Size Tachometer and Speedometer much better than the 2025 Mavericks Little Tachometer which is Tacky IMO the Digital Speedometer i don't mind. And i'm not a Fan of the Heater and A/C Controls on the Stereo screen i liked the BS BB Heater and A/C controls much better than the Mavericks. But i Love the Maverick the BS had to many issues IMO and the Maverick has the 2.0 Eco Boost 4 cylinder and the BS had the 1.5 Eco Boost 3 cylinder.

I got my 23 XL hybrid July 6, 2023, now have almost 45000 miles with no problems (other than the minor recall stuff but my dealer picks it up fixes it and brings it back at no charge so I don't even need to leave home). I am averaging 42.4 mpg been across the country twice (once in winter) so whats not to love. I'd buy another but I think this one will outlast me.

I was mulling this over while I was just hooking up my battery tender.. The best truck I ever owned was my '83 S-10. 23 years and about 300K miles. I'll update this post in 2047, but for now, I would buy the Maverick again.

oh, really? nostalgia and emotions don't really count as 'best'.

you liked it best, I get that. but several family and friends had those, they were an improvement on the Chevy Luv, and I'm not sure I'd go much farther than that. even the 2.8 60deg v6 was a total dog.

After 15 months and just under 35k miles... Yes! I'd buy my '24 hybrid Maverick again. Just as I had guessed when I ordered it, it's now like an old catcher's mitt, or my favorite pair of jeans: Comfortable, all the utility and power I need, and it just works. I still smile every time I see it. Still no squeaks or rattles, still great mileage, not overly worn interior (some folks think it's brand new). I waited 519 days for mine (from the original order) and it was worth it, so was the price.

Things I'd do differently:

* Something to toughen up the paint job (rock chips are a real thing when you drive on the highway and around construction zones as much as I do).

* Would've added a hard shell topper in the order, at the point of sale. My SoftTopper has worked flawlessly after a full summer and winter, but with all the zippers and Velcro, it's a bit of a hassle getting into the tailgate.

I'm not sure what some people were expecting from a compact vehicle, built at a lower price point. But I still think Ford hit an out-of-the-park home run with the Maverick. And I'm still shocked that other car makers haven't gone all-in to do the same for a product so many people clearly desire.

Come on now. You could clock an 83 S-10 from zero to 60 with a weekly calendar.
my first car was a '85 mazda rx-7 gs and I was very thankful my dad gave it to me. it handled relatively well, although tires at that time really sucked compared to modern tires. the 12A 2-rotor was ok compared to an 80s 4 cylinder, but it was not at all impressive.

I have very found memories of it, and it wasn't even remotely close to the best car I've owned. the maverick is definitely my best truck because it's my first truck. :D

I’ve never had to put a battery tender on my mav hybrid. And I’ve been gone for 3 weeks at a time. The ONLY time I’ve had a not start condition was when I left it overnight with a detailer and they had all four doors open for an extended amount of time. Yes, I’ve gotten the sleep mode warnings, but they’ve never been fatal until that night at the detailer.

The owner of the vehicle gets to choose the owner's own favorite.

I picked up my 23 XLT Hybrid in October of that year. I love it, but I did not appreciate the 23 month wait. If there was one available without the wait, I would totally buy another one. My father-in-law wants one now.
So far no problems other than a couple software recalls. Since I started working from home, my record is 7 weeks in between fill ups! I don't have to drive it a lot, obviously, but I offer to anytime the family goes anywhere. The hot pepper red color might be my favorite part. I moved to Ohio from Colorado, and it handled the trip loaded down just fine. My tonneau cover kept my stuff dry in a heavy Omaha rain storm! It is cheaply made, but after only 12k miles in 18 months, it's still in "near mint" condition. It is not a road trip type of vehicle. My kids would rather travel in the mini van. I drove a Ranger for 20 years before this, so the available tech is a welcomed upgrade. The bed has proved useful with a few loads of dirt, mulch, plywood and furniture. I can pull a 12' trailer loaded with dirt no problem.

of course they do. however, 'best' is certainly a different thing than 'favorite'.

there's no need to quantify a favorite, but I'm curious what made that guy think it's the best. perhaps he used the wrong term?
