as I mentioned in my last post those screenshots are not valid. there's no legitimate reason to use that screenshot instead of the draggy results page, and the ecoboost is already a second+ off normal pace, so I really don't care what result this fool pulled together.

I'm much more interested to the see the full draggy result on the 25 hybrid awd which can then be compared to valid ecoboost results.
Look,

Did you watch the video? I did without sound though.

It's not a standardized MOTORTREND or substitute your favorite ASTM test. No one is saying that.

But if both trucks were in the same non-ideal conditions it is still a valid comparison.

BTW there are dozens of albeit amateur comparisons out there stating the differences amount to splitting hairs.

These are short abnormal full throttle accelerations that almost no one does in real life daily driving.

So I say all "drag" tests are pointless as do not relate to normal life.

So lighten up.

I clicked around and saw the 'content creator' showing some draggy runs on a freeway and staring at the camera with his jaw dropped. I do not see the validated draggy results... because... they're not valid.

this is clickbait bullshit. there is absolutely, positively no way it's even as close as this, let alone the hybrid 'winning'.

Programming could account for this if the hardware remained the same.

It's probably a tiny hardware tweak with a software tweak too.

The final drive ratio on the 25s is 3.37 as apposed to 2.91, that alone could be the reason, but the fact the the traction motor also has a significate increase in torqued could be another reason. Programing is different for sure. The 25's cold start habits are certainly different, the engine runs a a much higher RPM the first couple of minutes than did the earlier years; I'm guessing that's emissions related.

AFIK, the gearing on all ('25 MY) hybrids is the same. Another possible reason for the quicker acceleration might just be the AWD vs the FWD. (More traction).
That is not true, my 2025 Hybrid is 2.91 gear ratio for the final drive.

Only the 4K towing package trucks get the 3.37 final drive ratio.

I bet it's hard to keep consistent 0-60s in a hybrid because it will all depend on battery SOC.

According to the latest Ford supplied information, ALL 2025 hybrid mavericks have the 3.37 axel ratio. I would love to see any legitimate Ford (and current) information that says otherwise.

I find it odd that not a single auto page or even a private person has 0-60 or 1/4 mile tested a 25 Hybrid yet. The only performance times available are pre 2025's. I know 0-60 was 7.7 on the earlier hybrids. That put it on par with a 68 Corvette 327.

If the 25 does do 6.8 0-60, here are some of the cars that ran the same time:

That's quite respectable performance for a economy hybrid truck!

7.7 was published a couple years ago. No one has published the new numbers yet. They are just using previous times.

No, they got 7.4 seconds 0-60 mph for the 2024 Maverick hybrid.

Here's something to compare stats to.

A 1985 S10, my first brand new mini truck.

I went places and hauled weights that would squish a Maverick, but look at the difference in stats, amazing.

That said, if I could buy a 1985 S10 today for the price of the Maverick, I'd take the S10.

Oh, that's from Car and Driver.

I had a 4x4 Outdoorsman with the Iron Duke, 4.85 gears, and the 5 speed.

Just a tank or old Jeep.

But mileage, not that far from a 2.0 Mav, but a hybrid is twice as fuel efficient.

Amazing advance in that aspect, but imagine a Mav hybrid system but into an S10 or Suzuki Samurai chassis.
