When the temperatures are below 30 degrees, it takes my truck forever to blow warm air from the heater. The engine temperature gauge never gets out of the blue. This is city driving, if I go out on the highway it will warm up and blow hot air. Is this normal for the hybrids?
That engine symbol is always there. It is possible you never noticed it before.
If it wasn't there and suddenly popped up, then you certainly have an electrical issue (short) or something weird going on.
So many conflicting reports, it is hard to know for sure.
I can see where one would be liable if you disable it and it results in an accident. Not sure if this kind of thing is being enforced beyond the manufacturer?
Let me clarify a few things since some of the posters on here are confused.
Hitting the pedal like I did was an accident. I have been driving my old Mach 1 for the last several weeks. It starts totally different than the Maverick (obviously).
Some of the responses were of the nature, why...
"Switch to sport mode. By the time you get onto the highway the engine will be warmed up enough". How o you know how long it takes to get to the highway, maybe some people live right off the highway. Also, Ford recommends not revving the engine up right away on new vehicles during break in...
A quick and easy way to warm up the engine before a trip is to just press the accelerator down.
Putting it in sport mode will do nothing as far as sitting in the driveway.
If you are like me, and you live close to the highway, it is probably better to let the engine run a minute or two...
On the Maverick Hybrid, you press the accelerator pedal down after turning the key to start the engine. This is done in instances when you want to warm the engine quicker. In my case, to warm the vehicle a little quicker before heading to work.
Sorry you guys thought I was that ignorant to...
I hopped in my 2025 Maverick this morning and went to start the truck, I pumped the pedal as I turned the key. At the same time my foot slipped off the gas pedal about half way down. I quickly tried to pump it again, so I essentially double pumped the gas pedal about half way down each time...
I think the HP and Torque ratings are the same. The only reason the 2025 is quicker is if you have the 4k version, with different gearing. If you get a 2025 XL with the 2k tow package, the 0-60 times are the same as previous models, since it will have 2.91 gears.
