Remember:

A Toyota Tundra can tow 150,000 lbs*

*with orbiter tow package

Aright guys
And a VW bug can be outfitted with a 5th wheel tow package:

Aright guys we get it, you can tow gagillion pounds for a few miles before ur transmission explodes. I honestly only trust the 8f35 with towing a few hundred pound over what the trucks rated for an elongated amount of time.

My bad. I think I replied before you typed ur whole comment after you edited it. Ill just delete my comment for less confusion from these edits to edits to edits
All good! ;)

Here's a diagram showing the 4K water to oil trans cooler in yellow and the air to oil trans cooler in dark blue. I believe the front cooler mounts between the radiator and the condensor (pictured) and the only part of it you can easily see under hood are the hoses and the inlet/outlet connections.

Interesting, there is a diagram for the 2.0L which you showed, but there isn't a diagram for the 1.5L cooler. All i see is an error

I also find it interesting that the trans oil cooler radiator covers about 1:4 of the engine radiator. Maybe its all evened out with the dual 25” cooling fan assembly on the opposing side.

It seems like this truck is very upgradable too. It doesn't seem to hard to add any of these things. Maybe besides the programming. (Not saying i will since i have the non 4k) but definitely better than those euro swiss watch automobiles.

Thinking of just adding a 7 pin to mine

That's pretty normal. I've added aftermarket transmission coolers to a several vehicles, and this is a very typical size, even for a full-size vehicle. The transmission doesn't generate nearly as much heat as an engine, so it doesn't need the full surface area of the radiator. The smaller the trans cooler is, the better the flow for the radiator and condenser. And of course in this case it's only supplementing the water to oil cooler anyway.

I don't think the 4K fan is dual. It's a single fan as I recall.

I thought 1/4 was a lot of space for it lol.
Anyway, the reason why i say dual is because the non 4k has a 43” Lengthwise fan assembly while the 4k, and tremor have one that is 25”. Which didn't make sense to me. If you go back to my original comment there should be a link to both. You can see the dimensions on one of the dropdown bars below it.

oh wait hold on there are three i think this one is the non 4k
Here

the 45in is the fx4

Oh, I see. I think you have the links reversed. They are both single fans. Note that the one you have linked for 2K says "FX4 package". The FX4 has the same cooling fan as the 4K tow package. Both of these fans have the same size shroud, so you can tell the difference in the size if you assume it's a single fan. This one looks like my FX4/4K tow fan. The other one you linked is definitely smaller.

ah ok i edited my original first comment. And listed all 3. The Tremor has a weird one though its taller than it is wide which now makes me think there is two of them on the tremor.

There's nothing stopping you from towing a n 80,000 lb semi with your truck other than tearing it up. And the liability of overload when you hit a busload of kids.

Pretty sureyou get different suspension components with 4k.
There are zero suspension changes with the 4K package. The FX4 and Tremor variants are the only ones with stated suspension changes.

That's how I understand it as well, and that only change you get with the FX4 over the standard AWD is mono tube rear shocks.

The reason I'm saying “i think” is because there are 4 on fords parts list a 1.5L a 2.0L another 2.0L for the tremor pack and an unspecified liter amount automatic transmission one. Some say hot weather and normal weather climate maybe they outift different mavericks depending on where they are going to be sent to. Depending on the climate. Also, maybe the 1.5L is only used in the hybrids since the eCVT doesn't need as much cooling as the 8f35 trans. I also could be wrong, the hybrid might not even have a trans cooler at all since all of them say automatic, which doesn't mean ford wouldn't put and auto cooler on a cvt.
I've had a bit more time to look at your first post...

I think the 1.5L and 2.0L refer to different combinations of Ecoboost engines paired with the 8F35. Meaning, I believe the liters here refer to the engine displacement rather than the volume of the cooler. The cooler paired with the 2.0L Ecoboost is the only one you'll find on a Maverick because the 1.5L Ecoboost isn't available as it is in the Bronco Sport.

Also, I doubt that Ford is outfitting different transmission coolers based upon the climate of the delivery destination.

idk man, if i put my vin in it tells me the 1.5 is the only one that is compatible and comes with my truck. It also specifies that it is compatible with mavericks. You could be right about the pairings anyway though because ford could just use the 1.5 engine trans cooler for the 2.0 engine. If the 1.5 can keep it cool why shouldnt they use it?

You're probably right then, especially with the VIN search results. I always thought the water to oil cooler was the same across the board in the Maverick, but I've only seen the 4K one in person. I just figured they were adding the air to oil cooler as supplemental for 4K.

Well, overall the 4KTow upgrades to the cooling give me a bit of piece of mind in the Sonoran Desert at sustained high speeds in the summer heat. Towing or not. At elevation as well.

Most definitely, I would recommend it to anyone living places where above 90f+ happens for weeks. But hey, most new cars dont have overheating problems. I for sure would stick to 2000lbs sharp in those conditions though with mine.

I dont even know if people can own hybrids or electric cars in those areas/ would not trust a hybrid to even sit in those 110f days you guys get out there. The battery would drain itself keeping cool lol. You would have to keep it plugged in or running 24/7.

disclaimer:
Hybrid owners please dont attack.
