Im assuming they are referring to the Ecoboost model, since the hybrid 12v is under the back seat. Now please explain to me how you opened the hood and saw the AGM battery?

I'm willing to bet that there are absolutely no cases of the halfshaft coming out of the output gear or out of the wheelbearing splines on record, because the halfshaft length has nothing to do with the joint failures. The slightly different length is coincidental. It’s well documented the original axle was significantly shorter than the ecoboost and/or tremor.
The new CV axles are longer for the hybrid.
It was in my 2024 AWD 2.0L Ecoboost Lariat. Now please explain to me how you opened the hood and saw the AGM battery?
Bingo ! As could be seen by simply looking at my Avatar.Im assuming they are referring to the Ecoboost model, since the hybrid 12v is under the back seat.![]()
Sure alright. Why would Ford increase the length then? They wouldn’t change a spec if it didn’t matter, they’ll cut pennies wherever they can.I'm willing to bet that there are absolutely no cases of the halfshaft coming out of the output gear or out of the wheelbearing splines on record, because the halfshaft length has nothing to do with the joint failures. Don't worry about it.OK, so how worried should I be? Mine is a 2024 FWD hybrid Lariat. I got it a month ago and really like it. I'm 64, will rarely -- if ever -- go off road with it. Mostly suburban stuff, though I live in a cold climate. So is this "half axle" thing something to worry about? Address it if/when it comes up?
What would a $600 warranty cover on this truck?I saw someone state the parts are $200 and labor would run about $400. So about $600 per side. That isn't far off from what it costs to by the extended warranty. No one knows for sure if the redesigned part has fixed the issue just yet. Time will tell that story.
Good luck with that: Toyota is recalling approximately 102,000 2022-2023 Toyota Tundra and Lexus LX vehicles due to a potential engine issue.I had my 2022 half axles replaced under warranty and now at 65 k they are bad again. Ford replaced my bad half axles with the same bad part a now they don't want anything to do with me. I love my truck but Ford won't back it's product even when they know it's badly engineered. I should have got a Tocoma I'll never buy a Ford again.
It isn't a $600 warranty. JMCGarage was stating that the cost of the part plus labor to do the replacement yourself is going to be roughly $600 per side. I was just mentioning if you are going to replace them with the updated part that to do both sides would be $1200 out of pocket. The closer you get to the cost of a full warranty extension it may make sense to buy the extended warranty to do the repair and still have the rest of the truck covered for the stated time or miles. Everyone's driving needs are different and of course if both sides aren't failing the warranty wont' just replace them. What would a $600 warranty cover on this truck?
This. If the original halfshafts were the incorrect length Ford would have to be replacing transmissions as well as shafts. The operating lengths of the original and updated shafts must be the same, as the distance from the tranny to the hub is what would determine the length.I'm willing to bet that there are absolutely no cases of the halfshaft coming out of the output gear or out of the wheelbearing splines on record, because the halfshaft length has nothing to do with the joint failures. The slightly different length is coincidental.

Thank you. The axles are damaged already. Would the purchase of extended warranty purchased today or some future date cover the axles since they are already damaged?

The splined end is too short to fully engage into the transmission so the splines strip out.I guess I don't get how that works geometrically speaking. You can replace a CV axel with a slightly longer one?
