I had my 2022 half axles replaced under warranty and now at 65 k they are bad again. Ford replaced my bad half axles with the same bad part a now they don't want anything to do with me. I love my truck but Ford won't back it's product even when they know it's badly engineered. I should have got a Tocoma I'll never buy a Ford again.

I think Ford has a Goodwill program like Honda does. Might be worth looking into. They know those axles are flawed. Good luck!

Huh? Thought you had a plan to address this?

I saw someone state the parts are $200 and labor would run about $400. So about $600 per side. That isn't far off from what it costs to by the extended warranty. No one knows for sure if the redesigned part has fixed the issue just yet. Time will tell that story.

You had me until Tacoma.

I had my 2010 Tacoma’s frame replaced. The entire f*ckin frame. They disassembled and reassembled the entire damn truck.

And you’re swearing off Ford and pledging your allegiance to Toyota over some half axles? You are blissfully ignorant, well until you buy a Taco and find out.

Ford has addressed the issue and the new part number will solve the problem. It’s unfortunate that you are out of the drivetrain warranty and that you didn’t get an extended warranty.

The nominal amount you’ll pay to have the updated axles installed will serve your Maverick’s next owner very well.

Enjoy your 23mpg, god awful interior, and host of recalls to come with the Taco.

Ford knows the original axles are so bad they redesigned the entire (critical) part. There absolutely should be a goodwill program that anyone who has the original axles fail will receive a new redesigned set free of charge.

When they replaced my axles at ~29k, I thought I was good. When I got it back, the transmission sounded like there were rocks in it. They replaced the entire transmission...the problem persists.

I'm done with it.

It's Carvana's problem now.

There's no denying the original axles have had issues. Ford came out with a new design that will hopefully rectify the problem. 35k miles on mine and I have no shudder, clicking/noise from the CV joints, and absolutely no signs of leaking from the boots. I'm prepared for them to fail prematurely. If they do and Ford covers it(even out of warranty), great! If they fail and Ford doesn't cover it, I would rather stomach the cost of parts than deal with the issues I hear from owners of other manufacturers these days. A lot of my acquaintances bad mouth the daylights out of Ford for being garbage, but then they tell me about all the issues they have with their recently built vehicles from other brands, foreign and domestic.

I joke with quite a few people that my Ford may kill a lot of trees with the recall notices, but at least I turn the key and go where I want to go.

Have you even driven a Taco? Its a POS that makes Ford look really good.

Just relaying my experience with Ford. Of course I'm a little salty because they fixed them once and replaced them with flawed parts again and now won't do anything about it. I suggested they just send me the parts and I would pay for labor and still nothing
