I'm finally getting perturbed.

My build week got moved from 2/3 to 2/17. Fine, that happens.

It was loaded Thursday that week onto the train car, which never successfully tracked, but my salesman was able to catch it stopped just short of the city las Thursday, and later at the unloading yard in the northwest of Las Vegas.

That was a week ago.

The trader still tells me 2/28-3/6, but now the dealer tool shoes 3/19-3/25--four weeks having around in town before handing it over to the dealer?

And, of course, my loan approval ends on the 15th, and I'll apparently need to reapply!

grr.

My 25 Lariat sat in the local rail yard for over 2 weeks before finally getting to my dealership, then almost another week for prep. Was I anxious and pissed, yes. But once I took delivery of it, all was forgotten! 😆

Unfortunately, that is not unusual at all! We've had them sit for months before they delivery them from the railyard to the dealership.

It depends in the carrier that they are assigned to. But sometimes the dealer can contact the carrier and successfully request that the delivery of a certain VIN be expedited. It doesn't always work, but it sometimes does.

The transport between rail yard and dealer is generally done with car carriers that hold 5-9 vehicles. To optimize labor and cost, the carriers move with full loads whenever possible. This may result in vehicles waiting at the rail yard for a time until there are enough to make up a full load to a dealer. There could also be shortages of drivers to make the deliveries.

Over the years all kinds of rail delays, train cars not available, storage yard full, transport trucks running behind, etc. Be glad it not on a ship out in the ocean.

Mine sat in KC railyard for 3 weeks. Four weeks total transit from Hermosillo to dealer.

OP's situation is not unusual.

Depending on the carrier, they will want a full load both directions. So, they will wait on bringing in a full trailer until they can have a full trailer on the return trip (trades, auctions, etc.).

Mine was apparently delivered to the rail yard as well about 2 weeks ago. Called the dealership last Friday, and they said it has an "non shippable label" (whatever that means). It sounds like it's just in limbo until they decide to release it or something...

Helpful to know I'm not the only one in this situation.

I highly recommend when you get your truck that you put a multistage maintainer on it's battery for a week to fully charge and restore what battery condition can be corrected. I use a noco 5g.

That extended delay likely means that it is visiting a body shop to repair damage in transit, like chains dropping on it, etc. A huge percentage of vehicles from all manufacturers arrive with body damage necessitating repair before it is saleable.

Only if they have a body shop there in the train yard.

My salesman pulls up the map, and there's its car icon right by the end of the dotted train route.

In the rush to get them across the border there could be some things that could be added later in the us if there was a supply problem. Could be update software, etc. From time to time they sit at the ramp waiting for Ford remote work before delivery to dealer.
