Did they change the sound system with the 2025s?

I'm assuming the ACM has changed since the entire infotainment system changed. It most likely outputs more power. But what we need is someone with a base 25 to pull their speakers so we can compare with a base 22-24. I would think additional power could make the base speakers sound better (assuming they are the exact same) but it shouldn't be a monumental difference. Now if the magnets/cones/design of the speakers are different that could cause that.

was it worth it? and I might look t open box's I was unaware they was eligible for warranty
I think you have to be a total tech member to get all the benefits, but it was definitely worth it for the price. I mean less than $200 installed is crazy because it even comes with all the wires and stuff that you would have to buy separately. I would do it again for the 25 but I feel the new system is good enough and having it under the seat kind of messed with my dogs in the back is the only reason why I think I’m just going to leave it stock this time.

last comment, that 10 inch subwoofer, vs the stock sub, substantial? I mean 10 inch 180watts, vs 6x9 like 50 watts. should be sizable diff. I'll be installing it myself because I think it's fun. as long as Best Buy warranties it for 4 years, a few replacements incase I am pushing first one a bit too hard. id prob try and test its output limit/not distorting. but still I dont want to be conservative since its not a full size sub anyway

I wonder if you are total tech, they install it, and you get 4 year warranty, and then you stop being total tech, if the 4 year warranty is still applicable.

surround is trash in both my Maverick and my Bronco which both have B&O (and the latter is sync4).

it emphasizes the center channel which I despise, and it sounds like it flips the rear channels to create 'ambience' so you have this weird diagonal soundstage as the midrange and treble from the left channel comes from center, LF and RR.

stereo mode for sure.
Nailed it. Haha.

I will say it does the same on my Dads 2024 Tahoe with the 10 speaker Bose when surround is chosen. So it’s not a Ford thing per se.

right, it's a pretty common 'feature' and some people do like it. some people buy Vizio soundbars also. :ROFLMAO:

I was interested because Spatial Audio in the Tesla was awesome. But it was native Spotify that you paid extra for with Tesla so I didn’t have high hopes.

I had a 2023 Lariat Tremor and was extremely disappointed in the B&O system, and added a small sub and amp, which helped tremendously. Couldn't even imagine how bad the "base" system sounded like.

I now have a 2025 Tremor, and already had an appointment to add the same amp and sub, but I think I'm going to cancel it now and save the money because the new system sounds A LOT better to me. Still could be a little louder, but it's not worth it to me to mess with the wiring and storage space now, I feel.

Anyone else notice this, or am I trippin' ?
How much was the upgrade to your lariat with a sub/amp? I want one too but I don't really feel like doing it myself. I used to do these all the time as a teenager but I just don't want to mess with it lol

You know I was kind of thinking the same thing. I almost immediately wanted to upgrade my 23 B&O system. I got my new 25 a week ago and have been thinking this doesn't sound as bad as I remember the 23 sounding. I also don't get the significant loss in volume on my Samsung phone when playing through Bluetooth or Android Auto that I get with the 23. Sadly, the door panels buzz more in the 25 then my 23 did. I will definitely be sound deadening them at some point. Maybe this weekend I will take an RTA measurement of the stock 25 B&O system.

My 25 xlt sounds much better with more bass than my 22 XLT did. Also no doors rattling when you turn up the volume!

$195 plus tax. That even included the wiring and installation, which is an absolute steal. I think i want ti keep my new truck ā€œcleanā€ and stock this time around though as the sound is good enough for me, as it’s not my daily driver anyway

If it was your daily

would you get it again? I’m trying to figure out if it’s like double the bass of the stock one

definitely for the price. If i were to do it again I might even spend the extra $100 and get the 12ā€ version if they found a good place to mount it (under the back seats, possibly?)

I wouldnt spend a ton of money overhauling though.

Then again I’m 44 and don’t need 15s to rattle my brain anymore like when I was bumpin’ in high school lol.

Is there a 12 compact?!

The pic I saw w the 10 they had it under rear seat on the center area is what I’m planning so I still have storage. I’d like to be out the door for 300 w 4 year warranty from bb

Truth be told I’d get a bigger sub if wasn’t a hybrid, but 300 watt limit and I’m thinking 10 inch 150 watts is ideal

my bad. I had the 8ā€. I would probably go for the 10ā€

Fwiw i also had the 8ā€ installed in my GR Corolla, which absolutely needed it and completely transformed that car’s sound way more than the Mav.

Yep, "despise" is a good word.

Going back decades, I have associated "ambience" and synthesized surround/spatial audio with "one channel is out of phase" and not much more. Not a fan.

Back in the early '90s they actually sold mainstream albums on compact disc with this kind of effect built in. It was a GREAT way to completely destroy the stereo image and bass response. šŸ˜€
