It’s my understanding that to turn off the alarm on my 2024 Maverick XLT via my key fob is to press the unlock button. Doesn’t work. I have to get in the truck, place the key in the ignition and turn it on. Thoughts please?

Try hitting the lock button first on the remote followed by the unlock. Or try the panic button. Lastly, change the battery in your key fob.

I have similar issue. I don’t use the fob I use a programmed key. And if I lock the truck via the door switch. And then unlock it with my key I have 12 secs before the alarm goes off.
supposedly you can turn off the alarm via FORScan. I have the code for an f150 but can verify that it will work for the Maverick.

If you push the panic button it will cancel the alarm.

I do not have push button start on my 23 Maverick xlt and it will set the alarm off in 12 seconds if I unlock it manually with the key. It does not matter how I locked the truck. Whether it's manually pushing the lever, pushing the all lock button or locking it with the fob.

Your programmed key requires the truck to be started with a properly coded key to deactivate the alarm. You have to unlock with a fob or keypad to turn the alarm off. Just put key in ignition within the time limit (I think the RFID in the programmed key has to be within 7 inches of the key slot to be identified but maybe turned to at least accessory mode, not sure).

Acc mode is actually enough, even though the display says to Start.

The unlock button doesn't turn it off. It's strange, but you have to press the panic button. I assume you are accidentally hitting the panic button to cause this problem? Kind of dumb and unlike any other vehicle or alarm system brand of system I've used before. Ford's key fob designs kind of suck, why is the panic button flush like the rest of them?

Turn off the alarm?
That could be taken 2 ways. First part from manual should take care of either turning alarm system off, or turning off the alarm sound.
If including the Panic alarm sound - 3 ways.
So depends on what exactly happened.
Sounds like you hit the Panic button, so pressing the Unlock doesn't stop that one, but Key to On does. Obviously pressing the Panic button again should stop it too.

DISARMING THE ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM

Disarm the alarm by performing any of the following actions:
  • Unlock the doors or luggage compartment with the remote control.
  • Switch your vehicle on or start your vehicle.

SOUNDING THE PANIC ALARM

Ford Maverick Turning off the alarm {filename}
Press the button to sound the panic alarm.Press the button again, or switch the ignition on to turn it off.
Note: The panic alarm only operates when the ignition is off.

This seems like the right thread for this question . . I’ve had my 2025 Lariat Hybrid AWD for about a month. I decided to “TEST” the alarm. So I left both fobs far away to not be read, then opened the driver door using the physical key. Sure enough the alarm/horn sounded until I ran to get the a key fob. Clicking buttons on the fob would NOT stop the alarm, until I got in and pushed the start button. With the test “successful”, I did nothing further until trying to drive to work the following morning, when I discovered the truck was “Dead” . . Key fobs did nothing, the only way to get in the truck was again the physical key, where I found the truck completely unresponsive to everything, like a dead battery. After reading everything in the OM, I used my wife’s car to jump start it. During the drive to work I discovered many “dummy lights” on the dash, No Drive Modes, No Cruise Control, etc . . A MESS. I returned to drive it to lunch and EVERYTHING seems to be back to normal! Was it really a Dead Battery? If so, why? Or, was this because the security system had “Diabled” the vehicle to protect it from theft and I had not Re-Enabled properly (although nothing in the OM tells me how to do that)? Thanks in advanced for Y’all’s experience and feedback!
