Hmmm??? And all this time I thought it was my reflex action pulling the kite string harder when it went into a dive!!!At the risk of a total thread hijack - I get that. Bernoulli's theorem (taught almost universally as why things fly) doesn't cover a lot of things like ground effect, symmetrical airfoils like on at least one Pitts version (that oddly enough flies faster inverted) etc.
Kites are a special case as they pull against the tether.
