The Maverick's base is a spunky 238-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder

Looks like it went down 12 HP. My 2022's spec is 250 HP

I read that the HP and Torque did go down for the 2025 model?
I read that also, but then reading on this forum there was a filter redesign and it actually didn't? Can someone expound on this? Maybe some left the factory with the lower hp?

A third of the engine bay is empty. Hope you got a good discount. 😉

Pretty impressive packaging.
Funny enough, I did get a pretty good deal!! Long story short, the sales guy I originally was dealing with misinformed me on the base XL that I was going buy. It wasn’t on the lot like he said. When I went to buy it, he didn’t show up and someone else called him. To make things right, they sold me this lux equipped XLT for 1500 more than what I agreed to pay for the XL

Oh I know it’s been changed I’m just wondering why. Just because you add a certain injection doesn’t mean you have to change the intake. Seems like a lot changed just because of some tiny details.
Whether the bottom end has really changed or not, I doubt it. But the cylinder head is a completely different and new casting. The intake runners are longer and extend outward from the head further to make space to mount the port fuel injectors. There simply was no room to do it before.
On all prior ecoboost 4 cylinders that were direct injection only, you’d have to add a spacer with injector ports between the manifold and the cylinder head or an entirely aftermarket manifold to add port injection.

I actually used the ecoboost plastic manifold with a spacer/adapter on my Mazdaspeed6 MZR DISI engine (engine is the origin of the ecoboost) to add port injection. There’s one crazy guy in the mazdaspeed community who is definitely going to see if he can fit this new head on an old block for a better implementation of port injection

@CajunMick Here is a pic direct from a Ford parts catalog. The new EB are duel injection.

The info on the top of the diagram is confusing...is this the 2025 Maverick or 2022 Maverick First Edition?

It is for the 25.

The "22- (FE)" just denotes the model years (22 and up) and FE is the model code.
