Does anyone know why ford redesigned the whole intake/manifold for the 2025?

I’m still excited about my truck, just bummed a bit that I can’t go ahead and order the S&B Intake to have ready and waiting to put on when I receive my truck from the dealer.

after seeing pictures of the actual layout of engine, it’s not making a ton of sense for all the changes

I would say that there's a pretty good chance that it has changed. Ford added port injection to the direct injection for 2025

Oh I know it’s been changed I’m just wondering why. Just because you add a certain injection doesn’t mean you have to change the intake. Seems like a lot changed just because of some tiny details.

Specially if the aren’t adding the GPF until job 3. Saw that in a different thread that those wouldn’t be installed until those start production

Well, when those injectors need to be mounted in the intake...

Dual injection to eliminate the valve coking... Gotcha. I'd hoped the new oil formulation/additives and a relocated PCV would have made this unnecessary.

It's a whole new engine design. Even the 2.3L on the other models have a similar change with the intake filter attached to the front of the timing cover on the rwd platforms. I assume it's for packaging reasons, however, seeing the 2023 ford escape with the same engine, where the airbox used to be is now just a huge void above the trans....

Humm, meanwhile us owners with 2022-2024 models stuck with potential “coking intake valves”?

Anyone with the new 2025 EB engine? If so, maybe couple pictures of this intake manifold setup.

It’s common with all direct injection engines. Oil vapor collects and solidifies on the intake valves. Normally the fuel washes it off in port injected engines.

On other 2 liter Ecoboost the PCV vapors effected cylinder 2&3 more than 1&4.

BMW has a process that uses walnut shell blasting to clean.

Do you have any source material from Ford to confirm this? I asked Tim, the @fordvideoguy, if he could confirm with Ford whether the 25 EBs had both port and direct injection. Tim said that he could not get an answer from Ford...

Would you be willing to take some more pics and upload them from different angles when it’s lighter out? Would love to see more.

Also, I was reading the the EB wouldn’t have the GPF until Job 3. Are you able to confirm that your EB does not have the GPF?

Well, one thing is for sure, the ATF R&R will be a lot easier on a '25! 🤠
