Finally got some uninterrupted free time to start making things for the Blue Lady.

First up a Front Strut Tower Brace. Had a free day last Tuesday thanks to the Hurricane and did my initial CAD drawing for the brace. Got parts ordered and drawings ready. Today I made my first prototype based on my drawings; first one didn't quite clear my CAI. Probably would have been fine if it was stock, so made a few adjustments.

I'm happy with my results but will make a small change for the set I'm sending to powder coating. Bracket material is 3/16" A656 GR 80, preheated and post heated for welding. Bar is 1" Dia, 1/4" wall 6061-T6. Heims are 5/8" -18 with 5/8 shoulder bolts.

Definitely made a difference as I get a bit more steering/road feedback.

I built a strut support years ago for my 1970 ford maverick, and 1967 mustang. I just found out my 2024 oxford white ford maverick xlt tremor is on schedule. Schedule 19 number what ever that means.

Good job on strut support!

I have used a cut off rake handle for a strut support on my Ram 2500 for years. So far, it has not affected performance that I can tell. Sunday is my 47th year anniversary and I may just take the wife out for dinner with what I saved by just using the rake handle.............. :unsure: :D:D

Oh my! So I did an image search for "redneck strut support" to rib you a bit and lo and behold this YouTube video popped up. Nothing redneck about it.

I'd be interested in buying one of these as well. I am an aircraft sheetmetal fabricator by trade, but the mounting brackets the way you have them sorted out is fantastic. This is one of those instances where it's not worth my time to figure it out.

For our 5th anniversary I took my wife to San Antonio, this year will be our 20th, been contemplating going back to get her. :unsure:
