Yesterday I had my first siting of a Police Edition Maverick. I have seen some that our county has in use for Building inspections and I would have to assume that the Police Edition uses the EcoBoost motor as the county vehicles do. It was very cool to see this.

Watch the cops scoop up the 300 HP package.

I think it would be hilarious to see a hybrid police Maverick.
I bet they are out there some where.

My Fiancé got into a light fender-bender the other day and wouldn't you know it an Orange County sheriff pulled up in a 2025 XL Hybrid. I was talking to him as he was the second officer on the scene, and I asked him if it was the hybrid or EcoBoost, his response was that because he was only dealing with car crashes/accidents they just gave him the hybrid for the MPG.

Of course, he was also saying he would've rather been in an Expedition or the F-150's, as he didn't feel like the maverick was big enough to carry him and all his gear around

I see no reason for a non-persuit vehicle to be anything but hybrid. Ford brought back the Explorer Hybrid only for fleet use. Proof I'm not wrong.

Don't discount the possibility that it is a drug-bust car. I know of a city that has a police Corvette specifically for that reason. In many districts, once the police confiscate a vehicle as part of a drug bust, it belongs to them.

That would be one poor drug dealer if he was driving a Maverick as compared to a Mercedes.

Yeah but they only do low speed pursuits at 20 MPH or lower to maximize the miles per tank numbers.

Typical cruisers idle more than 50% of their lifetimes. A hybrid makes much more sense.

A lot of "traffic control" vehicles in VA are used to direct traffic at schools and churches. The drivers I see are not in uniform and are wearing PPE.
