Ok so I started by purchasing one of the original Homelinks on e-bay for around 20 bucks, I then pulled down the upper console completely and and started fitting it in by cutting with me dremel tool, after I got it to fit right which I will tell u is a little bit of a b…. and a few choice words, I used some putty epoxy on the sides of it to make it stayed in place, I feel if you don’t hold it in place it will pop out when u push up on it. I then just wired it in to the dome light wiring, enjoy people and have faith sometimes ya need big balls or no brains

I just use the garage door opener that the opener came with. It has a clip that holds it firmly to the visor and there's no drilling or epoxy involved.

While this option works for many folks, my neighbors had their remote stolen from their truck while parked at an airport lot along with their auto insurance card listing their address.

Upon returning, their house was nearly empty with entry through the garage door.

That’s why they have a slide bar mounted on the garage door to slide in place when you are not home.

Something similar happened to a friend and the one night he left his BMW outside. He was on 3rd floor and never even heard them clean out his garage.

I just taped my opener to the inside of the dash cubby with double stick tape, just reach in and push the button.

Easily fixed by not leaving access to your home locked in your vehicle for extended periods at the airport.

Or anywhere outside your home really. Should be common sense.

KIA Auto-Dimming mirror with HomeLink, under $28 shipped. You get both the benefit of the dimming rear view mirror, and the garage door opening. - Easy to wire into the overhead, and fits the stock mirror mount..

Go with the Homelink mirror. I wired mine so it is only able to be used with the ignition on. Didn't want someone to break into the truck and be able to open the garage.
There is a long thread here on the forum about the install. I was able to install mine no problem, I just can't figure out how to add the link to this thread. :blush:
