Decided to finally tackle the project of swapping out the front speakers and adding sound deadening to the front doors. I took mine time but overall its not a very difficult project, as some may think. This YOUTUBE video was extremely helpful for figuring out how to remove the inner door skin. Overall I used less than 20sqft of deadening material for both front doors. The outcome is noticeable with a little less cabin noise but 0 rattles.

I did the same and also found his video helpful.
One thing I thought of that I would have done differently: Use some really good suction mounts to hold the window up and slightly open. I was so nervous that I might forget, shut the door and watch the glass crash into the door.

I used a bunch of painters tape. My only gripe is it doesn't stick well on the areas where you push up on the window at. I was still a little nervous, but I worked quickly lol

Which NVX deadener did you use?

I used about 100 sq ft of this stuff and did my whole interior pretty much. Need to do a write up but man it was a pain in the ass and I don't feel like recollecting the process lol.

Originally I was planning on using that for the door panels and using the triple layer for the outer door skins but then just decided to do it all with the same stuff. Either way it’s still better than nothing at all. I’m just happy to notice the cabin being a little bit quieter, especially since I’m on all-terrains

It's not at all a fun process, but the end results speak for themselves.

I'd like install the install sound deadening to make my Lariat even quieter, but just hate dealing with removing the regulator, and potentially dropping the glass in the process. - It's an odd set-up for us old school owners, and I've done the deadening in three prior vehicles.

Can't speak to the Lariat specifically, but I can tell you that slathering sound mat even on the door card and the inner faces of the door (without removing the window regulator etc) made a huge difference on my XLT. I also put it on the back of the cab and inside any interior panels I removed for speaker replacement in the back, and it's a totally different truck.

Good to know! Do the doors also shut with a nice thud instead of a slight metallic sound?

Hard to say. I'm sure it's better, but I don't think I made a Maybach for $75 or anything. I'm positive the plastic rattling and resonance when the doors are closed is reduced.

What I was really going for is less road/tire noise, and I think I accomplished that in spades. That kind of noise reduction pays off exponentially since the amp doesn't have to work as hard to give you the dynamic range you want while driving.
