I recently had my windshield replaced using the special glass, and I’ll be darned if I can tell any difference.
Others said they noticed some difference in just the windshield.
I noticed a major diff test driving an XL but that vehicle had none of the extra Lariat sound deadening in it elsewhere.
IMO the XL was still pretty quiet for a little truck riding so close to the ground.

Yeah XLT with normal glass to special glass, I can’t hear any appreciable change. Then again, I dont have bat like hearing, so maybe it is me.
You might be noticing the lack of the fender insulation foam pieces on the XL, just a guess.

Anyone who thinks Mavericks (at least the Lariat) is too loud must have never driven cars from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s……..
I drove cars from the 80s and 90s with terrible sound proofing. See the car on my profile pic. I have notable hearing loss due to bad window weatherstrips and exhaust drones. With that being said, struggling to understand people as an adult in my 30s is frustrating, and I’d hate to put my kids through what I’m dealing with now if I can help it. Hearing, once lost, is not recoverable.

Fender insulation might be an easy choice to go try out. My XLT doesn’t have despite being “luxury”. It’s decently quiet compared to my former trucks from the 90s, but it really pales in comparison to my wife’s crossover. The crossover and this truck are both unibody, so I might be able to see what they did differently on the truck versus the crossover.
