You either have the money or you don't. If you have it then get the Lariat and check all the boxes. Cheap out on other things, but get the best car you can.
🤣 Quite the statement to suggest that those who decided on XLTs are just poor. We can afford to drive whatever we want, but we did not get in this position by spending on things we don't value. We did not get a lariat because we did not value the options package, regardless of the fact that the difference in cost is about one week of contributions to our brokerage account.

If more people "cheaped out" on cars we'd have a much smaller personal debt problem in this country.

I don't think that is what he meant. But I hear both sides. Maverick on ...

If I took that the wrong way, I'd love to hear what it actually means. IMO, it's not healthy to spend as much as you can on a car - that's the epitome of a poverty mindset.

I took it as meaning if you have the money and want to spend it on a vehicle, such as the Lariat, go ahead. If you don't want to spend that much on a vehicle then get what you want. Nothing about being poor.

I can afford a Lariat, but I didn't want to spend more of my money on what I would have received in the increased price of the Lariat. Maybe I read more in-between the lines than what he meant or what you read, but thats what I read.

As I'm endlessly waiting for my maverick to come in. I'm debating on upgrading from the XLT to the Lariat. I keep going back and forth on it. I'm curious to what everyone's reason were for choosing their trim level. Also has anyone gotten the XLT or Lariat and wish they didn't.
I am very happy that I went with the xlt trim. I like the Lariat Trim too, but I do not like the rims thT comes with the trim. And it was too expensive for what I wanted. Otherwise I like the trim okay.

What do you attribute the lowered noise levels? More than just the windshield?
My dealer told me that there is some extra sound deading in the A Pillar down to the floor between the firewall an interior.

I immediately eliminated the Lariat because the name is so stupid.
I think “Lariat” is a common trim level on the Ford trucks… similar to “Titanium” on their SUVs.

I was looking for Lariat Lux and got one someone else cancelled. Came out of top trim level hybrid Camry and wanted similar features. Biggest surprise for me with the lariat lux is the electric rear window. As some else said, really helps cool down cab quickly and air flow thru cab is great when opened even slightly.

I don't devote the most money possible to depreciating assets.

You don't need the lux package for that.

I'm a boomer and don't follow you. I'm not a fan of the Lariat interior. How does it scream boomer?
