XLT Hybrid delivered, radio doesn't work

Took delivery of my hybrid today. Ordered on July 30th. First impressions are mixed. I have the standard radio and the tuner will not work..won't change stations , at all. Neither the dial or the buttons work. After a while it will act like it wants to then just stop trying. Works fine on bluetooth. Kind of a big miss to me, can't even listen to the radio.

As far as the truck , honestly to me it rides pretty rough and is pretty noisy..that being said , for the price , it's hard to beat. I only have 30 miles on it and mpg is showing 30.3. Will see as I drive it more.

Thanks for the link. I already tried checking for firmware. Seems there are no updates available. I browsed around earlier and noticed I was not alone in the issue. I thought at first it was just the people with the upgraded radios, but seems to effect them all.

My XLT radio station search will work and randomly not work in a manner similar to what you have described. Hoping this issue will be corrected by firmware update. But if the issue only relates to firmware/software then why isn't EVERY XL/XLT experiencing?

Would hate to wait months and then find out this was a hardware issue on isolated builds.

It's just that the 2015 Fiesta radio modules Ford found in a warehouse somewhere and decided to use in the Maverick are so old that they aren't compatible with the modern electronics in the rest of the vehicle. Kinda like the old cellphones some guys here are trying to pair up to their new Maverick.

Make sure your phone isn’t plugged in when “testing” your radio.

if your phone is plugged in, it’s most likely set to your preferred streaming app. Back out to the main screen and click the Ford Audio icon. From there you can select FM tuner.

Appreciate the reply, but it's not that. I actually had to sync my phone up to the radio so I could listen to music.. I didn't even mess with any of that for the first week. I think one day it worked ok..the stations would tune in, the knob and the button for the tuner worked. It was short lived. Heck it won't even tune to a station manually. Like the whole thing is just not resonsive while in tuner mode. Sync your phone and all the controls work. Go back to The tuner , unhook Bluetooth etc....no radio..static. if you get lucky it may attempt to tune to a station, but it don't pick it up.

I hope Ford gets this resolved. AM/FM radio reception and the ability to select the desired frequency has been (until now), a very reliable feature for over half a century.
It is a health and safety issue (e.g. Emergency Broadcast System Alerts) during inclement weather, earthquakes, fire, civil defense, whatever. I have witnessed weather events that shut down cellular service due to call saturation.
If Ford can still offer 360 Copilot, door keypads, and fancy animated screens, they should be able to do so without sacrificing a basic and essential functionality.

I agree. I have had issues with my XLT radio and haven't stopped by the dealer yet. These issues can sour reliability ratings and public opinion even when all the other fundamentals core vehicle mechanicals are outstanding. As we would say when I was in the navy back in 1812... one aw sh1t ruins a million at-a-boys. In particular when you are reminded every time your drive the vehicle.

Van Halen's contract riders for shows had a line item "no brown m&ms". If they saw brown m&ms they would tear up the contract figuring if they couldn't get a basic detail like that correct, how many big things did the venue miss.
