Love this new DashCam, installation was pretty simple

I ran all wiring behind the headliner / trim / air bags
i powered the unit using a 2 pin OBD II Port adapter
I left plenty of extra wiring to adjust the rear camera position
I did not install the in cabinet camera yet still thinking about that one
i did install the GPS antenna on the passenger side dash

I feel like you're going to want to raise the rear view camera up to the top of the window to see much behind the truck.
That's what I had my installer do. He ran the cable from the top and it's near the top of the non-slide driver's-side window.

I agree - my issue is I carry my foldable eBikes in totes on the Yakima basket above the bed so I’m still trying to figure out the best location I did leave plenty of wiring for this camera behind the rear seat so it can be relocated (any and all recommendations welcomed)

I agree, I think a higher position will give a better view.

When I installed mine I went a little overboard and built my rear camera into my third brake light. But since you have the rack you should mount it to the rack? You would have an amazing sight picture that way. The camera is fully weatherproof so just mount it to the outside

I would love to move the camera outside the cabin but I do have concerns

1 - How do I cleanly route the wires outside no matter the location I choose to mount it?
2- Although the camera is water proof the lens will get wet and distort the view and this is now my only rear view except my side mirrors
3. I would really like to through the 3rd brake light an mount it on the roof

Definitely need to think this through

I have a 3 camera Viofo and on the rear camera I made a shim with wood shim stock to center the angle view of the rear camera as mine is off set like your is. So this way you get a view closer as if you mounted the camera in center of rear window.

I am now considering relocating the rear camera outside if I find a good exit point from the interior cabin. I plan to mount it on the underside of the most rear BillieBars cross bar. I contact WolfBox to see if I could get an intermediate cable extension with twist connectors on both ends to extend my existing cable and connect directly into the camera after I relocate it - the longer cords on their site only shows longer cords which would require me to make a new run under the trim and head liner which I rather not do. I am looking for an extension between my existing ran cable and the camera verses a totally new long cord.

Response From WolfBox (Love the response time but not the answer wondering if anyone knows of an after market solution so I could extend my existing cord)

Dear customer,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the extension cable for the rear camera of your WolfBox G900 TriPro Dash Cam.

We offer extension cables in 33, 50, and 98 feet, which are suitable for most vehicle models. However, we currently do not have a cable with both male and female connectors to extend the existing wiring harness without replacing it entirely. The available extension cables are designed to replace the original cable and connect directly from the rear camera to the dash cam unit.

Here are the available options for the G900 TriPro:

  1. G900TriPro Rear Camera - Rear Cam with 33 ft Cable
    Product Link: https://wolfboxdashcamera.myshopify.com/products/g900tripro-rear-camera?variant=51359681773857
    Price: $59.99 USD
  2. G900TriPro Rear Camera - Rear Cam with 50 ft Cable
    Product Link: https://wolfboxdashcamera.myshopify.com/products/g900tripro-rear-camera?variant=51359681806625
    Price: $60.99 USD
If you decide to use one of these longer cables, you would need to replace the existing cable rather than extending it. Let me know if you need further assistance or have additional questions!

Best Regards,

Through the headliner, and out of the 3rd brake light. Excellent view, better visibility at night, rain does not blur the image or sit on the lens. Tint doesn't distort the image either and the light from the 3rd (when pressing the brake does not cloud the image either. No need for a longer cable.

Excellent suggestion JD - is there enough room to mount the camera under the 3rd brake light lense (inside the brake light enclosure) so I don’t need to go outside and breach the water tight seal of the 3rd brake light enclosure? I definitely have enough wiring to reach that location - thank you for your input I will Into this👍
