New to this whole having to wire my dash cam thing. My Tucson has a dongle you can plug into the dimming rear view mirror but no such thing on my '26 Maverick sadly.

I'm looking to buy the Wolfbox G900 Pro and mount the rear view camera to the cargo lights in the bed.

My question is, what is the best way to wire the camera if I want it to turn off when the car turns off and on when it turns on? I don't really care about the parking monitoring or anything since my car is almost always parked in a garage or on base where I work. Fuse Box or OBDII plug?

Mahalo in advance.

If your not shy about tapping into wires the interior Fuse block is the place to go
Here's a video I did several years back

I’d prefer not to tap into wire but I’m not totally against it. Is there a way to run a wire from one of the preinstalled fuses already and get the same result or will that mess something up?

Just installed a Wolfbox 900 Pro last week, also with the rear camera on top of the cargo lights. There's a setting that turns it off when the accessory power goes off.

The package should include a plug for your OBD at the left-bottom on the driver's side that powers the unit and let it know when the accessories are on or off. I bought the tap kit to connect to the fuse box like Quest did, but somehow lost it on a trip to my in-laws (and Wolfbox has it out of stock). I'm using the OBD for now.

Suggest this $40 gizmo to tidy up the install: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4408762770/ford-maverick-third-brake-light-camera

Oh, well thats pretty convenient. I didn't know there was a setting for that. I'll just do the OBD port then.

Also, I found this one on etsy as well for the F-150 that should fit the Maverick ( My understanding is the 2015+ F-150 shares the same third brake light housing with the Maverick).

I started with the OBD method of powering my Wolfbox 900TriPro but found it inconsistent during a long roadtrip,.

Wolfbox customer service sent me the tap kit which has been rock solid since I installed it. That kit is super simple, pick the fuse you want to use, pop it out of the block, and into the top of the tap, then the tap into the block. Super simple

Which fuse did you tap?

I pull power for my WolfBox G900 TriPro using the OBD II Port using a 2 pin adapter also supplied by WolfBolf for my 2025 Maverick love it…
